Dude, for that car you could build a serious engine on a budget. You could find a 5.7 roller block out of another thirdgen, suburban, etc, throw some Gm vortec heads on it and be around the same hp as the crate motor for under a couple grand.

Damn, I wish I had the garage space. I'd get another thirdgen and get my hands dirty. Where's Spike, he could chime in on this.

No sh!t. I just want a loud(er) ass V8 that I can have fun cruising in. The LT will probably be my main mod car once I get it. Christine may get sold outright if that happens.

An LT in the snow is doable. I'll just epoxy the crap out of the underside for a grand.

Xan, if it's still good I'll go ahead and try it. Knowing that the original engine was out of an 87 he probably has something like an Eddlebrock on it and obviously is complete.

It is. I did it ONCE on the Magna. Nuts were frozen for a week (probably from the 2 hours spent trying to start it @ 36F.
