SAd day for me

Today I was on the freeway following traffic at about 40 MPH in the slow lane and a semi hit the back of me. This guy must have fallen asleep to hit me the way he did.
I havent even got my plates yet!

That pains me to see, really sorry for you! My 2016 Camaro was smashed into at a parking lot, and I got to hear the smash while walking out of the store towards my car. I understand your pain. Best of luck dealing with the situation but looks very fixable. Too many idiots on the roads these days. Can't even park far away, idiots will still find you. The guy that smashed into my PARKED car said he didn't see it. /sigh

I'm very sorry to see this. My convertible has just over 1300 miles, and I recently installed my plates, so I feel bad for you. Mine is a much cheaper model, but regardless, I would push towards getting it totaled. Tiny fender benders can cost $5K-$8K to fix... this looks like a big job... think about how fast the bill will rise on this fix... exhaust, taillights, body parts, frame damage? Maybe you can just get a fresh start, and others can benefit when the parts go into the salvage yard sector? I'm interested to know how much that repair will cost.

Wow bro, I hate to see that. It really sucks, I'm a consultant and I drive a crap load during the day for my work. Can't count how many accidents I see involving semis. I'm not a cup half full guy (actually, I'm a cup always full guy)! But WOW, a semi hitting you like that. I'm shocked it wasn't worse ! Get the vert repaired and you'll she still be as good as new and you'll still be driving a BAD A$$ Camaro !!! Good luck !

i got hit by a semi also had to replace quarter panel and bumper took about a month or so and was about 9k worth of damage insurance paid for all of it and found a good body shop but it still sucks

That sucks, since I bought my brand new ZLE in 2018 I find that I drive it less and less for daily errands just because of my anxiety that someone will hit it or damage it in a parking lot. I save it for fun canyon drives in hills around my house, and track. If I damage it on track at least I’m doing what I love with it and easier to accept.

My daily is a 2020 MDX SHAWD I park on my street, and a tree trimming service truck hit my driver side rear fender and bumper last week. This also sucked, but if it was my ZLE the pain would be 10x.

So I got my estimate from the autobody shop and it was around 8K. (And the rear bumper skirt is on backorder with GM) and after dealing with the adjuster at AAA this doesn't include a new wheel since AAA says they only refurbish wheels unless they are bent or cracked. This is going to be a problem for me because the car needs to be put back the way it was before the accident. The adjuster is from my insurance and she could care less that I pay extra for original GM parts and that the car is brand new. This is going to be a battle I can already see. I may choose to deal this the trucking company that hit me to see how far I can get with them. what a headache
