What Amp/Harness and how to for a 14 SS? Amp before speakers?

Battery disconnected for a week, Fuse for Power ports are good but still no luck.

About 30 seconds or so after I shut the key off I get a Very small pop, Is there an easy way to deal with this? Its not a huge deal just wondering.



Also does sound quality change when I adjust the gain? I am not sure if it is me or not but the radio sounded better with the gain up another notch but the chimes were to loud and there was static down low.



Say if if I liked the sound at vol 10 but now I have to turn it up to 20 to get the same vol should the quality of the sound still be the same?

Well, I got the Radio updated though GM, There were 2 updates one though the GM Lap Top and another that had to be installed though the USB. Neither fixed my issues, The BCM had some updates as well but that didn't fix it. The dealer has no idea what to try next.


I am wondering if changing the camera would work and if I should order one for the 14 or the 15. A lot of posts on this forum said the 14 didn't have the lines but Mine did for sure and the dealer said it is listed for my car.

thats Very odd. It could be the camera but i dont know. One for a 14/15 should be the same. Lines are programmed into the car not the camera. My 2011 has the mylink and they enabled the lines via gen5diy when i did the conversion and i used a non oem camera.

Did you do a full radio reset? IT sounds like to me the radio is just forgetting to inject the lines into the video feed.

Gain is just a match for the input voltage. Not volume or SQ related. The "pop" is more than likely turn off pop. If you want, add a resistor (comes with the FARK kit) inline on the remote wire.
Turn your chimes in the radio settings to low. That will help a good bit if they are on normal or high.

Spoke with Gen 5 DIY today and he wants to sell me a whole radio, I did order a brand new GM Camera which is for the 14-15 and I'll try that first. Can I get to the plug without removing the bumper so i can plug camera in to try it?


The resistor that came with the fark kit went to ground after I cut one of the wires in the harness. Can you link me to a resistor for the remote wire? Everything I have read about this doesn't make it seem as easy as a resistor in one wire.

Hmm. well im not sure about the resistor then. I thought it was on the remote wire.

I dont know on the 14/15 for the camera. but yes they usually sell a whole radio or you ship for programming. id try the camera first.

Well A New GM Camera did not fix the issue, At this point I am not sure what to do besides order a new radio from Gen 5 Diy.

I truly cant imagine the radio being at fault... thats a big expense. you could take yours out and send it in for programming and diag. might be cheaper.

Gen 5 Said they don't want to program mine as they think there is a problem with it. I don't think there is but who knows. Its just crazy how it disappeared. There is a park assit control module in the trunk area but I have no idea what it exactly does, Its not expensive but I would have to take it back to the dealer to program it.

Pull the fuse for that module or check it. That could be bad. theres a fuse box in the back right corner behind carpet.

I am not sure which fuse is for that box, I wasn't seeing it listed.

Theres a bunch of BCM fuses on the internal fuse box. honestly, i dont know what to suggest. i dont think there is a split module for the park assist that controls the lines. https://www.startmycar.com/us/chevro...o/fusebox/2011

I have pulled the BCM fuses and I have also left battery unhooked for a week, Its just annoying that they are gone.
