The NFL is far from superior in any sense but the playoffs. One of the biggest knocks on a NCAA playoff system comes how NFL regular season games don't mean as much, and if you don't think that mentally effects how hard players push on every play then your nuts.

NFL has a better way of crowning a champion, college football is much more exciting.
Right. Lose a game and you're done. That's really exciting. Only a very few can afford to lose one. The powerhouses can possibly lose 2 but it's rare.

So for MOST teams, your season is OVER early. In the NFL it's at least half way through the season before you have to give it up. I mean really? If you're a fan of a team who lost then just watch baseball the rest of the season cause it's over. You take a whole element away from the game.

So tell me why the NFL grosses 5 times the money as College football does, even though College has 4 times more teams?

I still say this.

Only for 9 or 10 teams are all the games so important.

And BTW, the NFL still GROSSES, way over all other sports, including College football.

And how many times can you watch a Major College team beat up what amounts to a high school team anyway. I don't even watch OU when they play the patsies.

Well I am sure Junkie can talk to you about revenue, I don't know much about it.

What's more exciting, the regular season, or the playoffs?

Better example...

How many people watch regular season College Basketball? Not many.

March Madness is the exciting part because its 1 and done. Every game is the most important game you play, it makes for great TV. Same with college football. You might not think that's exciting (especially after OU's season this year ) but that is one of the things keeping CFB away from an organized playoff.

Win or lose im a Fan im 29 and have gone to the Texas/OU game 29 years straight thats right 6 months old and a baby sitting saturday ended up at the cotton Bowl.
Win or lose Big game or patsie Game as PQ calls it im right there either at the game or watching it on Tv. I watch every game because football season is what I live for. I dont even have a kid and I got a longhorn baby mobile to hang up his/her crib !!!!!!!!!

I'm a Fan and respect it for what it is TRADITION !!!!!!!!

I have been through the hard times the akers era , The Makovic Era , the 66-3 loss at home in 97 against UCLA and yes the 5 year drought against OU.

I love NFL ball as well however there is just something about a Band and the tradition College football brings.

I agree with you PQ I dont think the 2 months off is worth a dam.

After the big12 game we get 2 months off add 1 more week for Big10 foes like OhioState thats to much time away from the game imo.

even though I love college football this money BS has gone overboard screw the championship games lets play it the next week or atleast take 1 week off then play it.

or lets have a playoff system the top 8 go to the BCS games ( playoff system ) the rest go to a Bowl final game around Xmas you still play each week money is being made and everyone is happy and not rusty.

Ok, question for ya. How many teams are really in the running for the NC right now?

Fact is, 98% have ALLREADY been eliminated. So it's only exciting for what, maybe 6 teams? You bring up a great point. I'm an OU fan. My season was over after the second loss. WOW. That's really exciting. My point is the NFL stays exciting for ALL fans until well into the 7th week, and 70% well into Nov. Can't say that about CFB because here we are and most have been done for a while.

The 'One and done' point you make is really stupid because it's only exciting for the teams who are STILL IN IT. THe NFL keeps people in it much longer. And it allows for the drama of watching a team develope together and go for a title.

People who are in favor of no playoffs in CFB are the ones who want their team to beat up on 9 crappy teams and two good ones every year and only have to prove themselves in ONE tough game in post season.

I'll bet you cheer and scream when Florida scores against Hofstra. I don't even watch OU when they play a Div. million A team. It's pathetic to watch. You're drinking the College game day Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreet cheerleading, dude. lmao

BTW, the College basketball playoffs have 64 (65) teams. People watch them. The only game the masses give a damn about in CFB is the ONE title game. Even the BCS other four bowls struggle to get veiwership.
