Wow, that sucks about the tranny. I had a grand am and i beat the hell out of it never did anything worse than break a shifter cable.

Makes me actually want to consider an extended warranty.

how did you screw up the tranny anyway? I was thinking the rear end was the really weak link in the system on F bodys

You can really never expect these things to happen or not happen. It sucks for sure...My aunt once had a car that had 3 different Tranny's crap the bed in two years....just shoddy luck, i guess

Beats me. I've beat the hell out of transmissions by racing and power shifting and nada. I drive it like a baby and BAM! There goes the tranny. Makes me wonder...........maybe I should be driving a wee bit more agressive...

I just had the tranny in my z-28 rebuilt about 4 months ago. I can definitely relate. Sorry to hear about that. Mine went when my radiator cracked and I got anti-freeze in my tranny.

Ouch! That would have REALLY pissed me off. Not only fixing the tranny, but the radiator go too???

Now, have you ever had the radiator fan break off while it's running and go through your radiator?!?! That just about scared the hell outta me! I thought my engine was blowing up, it was so loud. Yup...fan just broke straight off it's spindle and flew into the radiator. That was in my S10. I'm pretty sure it happened due to the lift I put on it.

Hehe...yeah. Ever since I put the 2 inch body lift on the truck, it began to fall apart....over heat, etc. One day, I just went to start it up and bam. There it goes.
