EVs in this class seem impressive (0-60 in 3.7) until you look at detailed stats. 1/4 mile trap 112 mph, 60-100 in 5.6 sec, 60-130 in 14.1 sec. Not that fast. The instant torque fools you. Could be a decent grocery getter though and at least genesis knows how to style cars/CUVs.

Hate the Mustang style large glass screen, where the gauge cluster isn’t within its own housing, separate from the infotainment.

I don't mind the form factor, but I dislike the styling & lux. Solid No, can't afford it anyway.

Did you get a chance to 350kW fast charge it? in deep cold? Push the range at all?

I’m assuming 70k or more for that thing. It is kinda sad that Hyundai moco has embarrassed the big 3 in a lot of ways over recent years.

I think a vehicle like this is really not intended for quarter-miling and definitely not for tracking. That stuff will come later. The ridiculous acceleration is more of an ”oh, by the way” than it is a reason for being. Sorta like if my SRX could rip off 4 second 0-60 runs. It can’t, but that’s not why I own it. If I had something like this to replace the SRX (currently looking towards a Blazer EV SS) it would be just fine. It would not be the replacement for either of my weekend fun cars. But it would make everyday errand running a ton more fun.

Base price was $67,800, full sticker was $69,400. You nailed it.

Nope. Didn’t have it long enough and had to share it with others in the office. The specs call for 18 minutes to go from 10% to 80% at 350 kW. It was fairly cold when I was driving it. High teens. The one screen shows range with and without HVAC engaged. I thought that was a nice touch.

When the car is off, the crystal is showing. When you start the car it rotates 180 degrees to reveal the shift selector. The button in the center is PARK. You turn the dial to get to R, N, D.

Range and charge time is still an issue, for me.

It's a big toaster. Any idiot with zero skills can push this car.

Reminds me of modern three gun competitions which I used to do. Boring. Semiautos are just too easy to run, particularly when you add in modern optics, funneled mag wells, compensators, etc. no real challenge at all.

That's why I moved to Cowboy Action. Lever action rifles, single action pistols, double barrel shotguns. If you can wring 24 rounds out of four guns without missing and in less than 16 seconds you have serious skills. That's also why shooters in my discipline can pick up modern guns and run circles around modern three gun shooters.

The same applies to these Oster appliances, particularly in the only dimension in which they're truly competitive, a straight line. The computer is doing everything for you.

What's really ironic is the people who trumpet how great these pieces of garbage are don't really care about driving fast to begin with, they just want something to get them from point A to B as quickly as possible, yet they brag about how fast they are.

No thanks. I'll stick to my 'outdated' tech.

It's not rocket science. EVs are known for being fun and torquey off the line...that's typically just their nature. It's no different than a diesel truck being known for having gobs of torque off idle and being able to pull a hill without downshifting, but yet get their doors blown off by a gasser when you put your foot down to the floor.

If you want an EV that's also fast in the 1/4 mile, then you need an EV that pushing a lot of horsepower.

Genesis is HyMoCo's luxury brand. They're looking to pull Lexus, BMW, Cadillac etc customers.

According to you, it's very well to do old ladies.
