Yeah, but how many coal plants are you supporting with your $50 a month electricity? Waaay dirtier than my Camaro emissions.

If our greens would support nuclear and hydro we might actually be able to have a pretty clean grid, but they insist on the fairytale of wind and solar only.

Ok…now that’s funny! When you first posted that statement, I was thinking just that, “obviously this is sarcasm” but, wasn’t absolutely sure because text doesn’t include context of tone, as it were.

From what I've heard that's only for trucks and maybe the Corvette.

The solution is to buy from companies that believe in giving consumers choices between EVs and ICE. GM isn't one of those companies.

^^^ What he said ^^^

Although I doubt Corvette. The LT6 is already well placed at Bowling Green. They already get enough LT2 from either Tonawanda or St. Catharines (can’t remember which) that they don’t need to get them from Flint. The other upside, at least until ‘34, is that news of C9 is starting to leak out.

I'm going to miss muscle cars, but if I pick up a GT500 in the next 3-4 years that should be enough. I'll be 72 in 2035, so unless they outright ban ICE vehicles I can probably keep a muscle car for as long as I'll need one.

It's a shame the doomsayers will get away with this nonsense. If their predictions were true we would have starved to death, froze, burned up, froze again, then burned up again by now.

My prediction, 30 years from now people will look back and wonder why anyone listened to this bullcrap.

You anticipating C9 to carry over the LT2?

I don't think LT2 gets replaced in the C8 generation. But if C9 remains ICE, I got to imagine Gen VI Small Block would go into it as the base Stingray motor with hopefully LT6 carrying over for C9 Z06. Unless C9 literally is just a heavy-MCE C8 and the powertrains carry over.

I think you are right that LT2 probably doesn’t continue in C9, but I think the next version is probably closer in content to LT2 than to the new motor and would likely be produced on the same lines as LT2. I’m basing this on what I think Gen 6 is, but I clearly don’t know that for sure.

So you're thinking a warmed over LT2 sort of like how GM updated the LT4.

What I really care about though is LT6 carrying over. One gives me another shot of getting the LT6 if my name doesn't come up for a C8 Z06. Two to piss off all these speculators buying the Z06 and putting them in shrink wrap thinking they are going to have a 458 2.0 on their hands and to then see the values drop.....

I don’t know what the upgrades might be to LT2. Just from what I’ve seen I think the Gen 6 addresses truck emissions and fuel economy in a front engine rear drive configuration. Can’t imagine they’d go to the trouble of also engineering a mid-engine car variant of it when they already have two mid-engine car variants available. If they are going to replace one of them I’d expect it to be through upgrading it rather than engineer yet a third mid-engine variant.

And to your point in an earlier post, C9 is almost certain to be an MCE on the current platform. They’re not gonna engineer a new platform when they’ve just introduced the current ZERV platform. And introduce an electric platform at the same time? Nope. MCE.
