I just haven't seen this yet.... Seems like the manufacturers are putting out even more power than they did 1-5 years ago but with more fuel efficiency. The only thing I have seen contrary to that was GM pulling the plug on the NORTHSTAR... but not really.. since the NS was lacking in power compared to every one of GM's OHV engines and very close to the HF V6s. Truth is that the 3.6L V6 for instance.. as in the Camaro and CTS... is fully capable of achieving 350HP with a couple bolt ons that will cost U around a $1K From a 2008 CTS 3.6L Check this one out... D3 Concepts took a CTS 3.6L Di (always remember that a average loss in HP is 15% from Flywheel to Rear Wheels... hence a 304HP engine divided by 1.15= 264HP) Baseline run: vehicle produced 263.0 rwhp and 241.7 lbs/tq. Adding the new Corsa Exhaust power jumped to 281.1 rwhp and 255.3 lbs/tq. for an increase of 18.1 rwhp and 13.6 lbs/tq ![]() Added their intake system and power jumped to 294.2 rwhp and 261.3 lbs/tq for an increase of 13.1 rwhp and 6.0 lbs/tq. Total gain in power was 31.2 rwhp and 19.6 lbs/tq. from just an intake and exhaust. ![]() MEANING: That they took a 304HP (at the Fly) 3.6LDi and boosted it to 340HP with the Exhaust and Intake MOD..... using the same formula.. with JUST THE INTAKE and no exhaust mod.. the 304HP 3.6L would be boosted to 320HP (Northstar) anyone??? NOTE: Once again remember that the CTS's 3.6LDI is based off the 263HP Version in the base car... and not on the 275HP 3.6L in the 2008 Lambdas... Direct Injection normally boosts an engine by 15-17%... Meaning that Cadillac could achieve the same thing by Direct Injecting the 275HP 3.6L instead of the 263HP version If GM were to DI the 275HP 3.6L instead they would yield about 321HP... then add this intake/exhaust combo would yield them about 35HP... making the 3.6L V6 worth about 355HP... |

![]() If you really think about it...this is the 70s-80s over again, with a twist...we aren't losing power. Then, carbs gave way to fuel injection with a minor power drop...today, port injection gives way to Direct Injection, and displacement reduction.....with a minor power GAIN. It's truly remarkable. ![]() Quote:

Exactly... But this is the beauty of technology in this day and age. We are now in a unique position to see technology increase advancements at an exponential rate. It's like perpetual motion... the more that technology "spins..." the faster is goes, constantly and consistently growing faster. Hence the reason why I got into IT... Every day there's an upgrade coming |

Yup... if someone told me before I bought... that the V cost upwards of $100K+ I wouldn't have doubted it. Give this car AWD and the STS's Tuscanny leather.. and I could certainly see a car that could command that price tag. ![]() Hell... look at this monstrosity and tell me WHY I would spend over $70K for it??? ![]() |

![]() The "Corvette Tax" is pennies compared to the price this badge commands. It could be literally a pile of poo, on a platter that looked like this, and you would still have to pay $10,000 for it. |

What is it about Americans that we have such a whole-hearted self-hate for ourselves that we readily boost up on our shoulders all things from our two most lethal enemies from the past?:(
What ALWAYS kicks me in the gut is when I see Jewish people buying German cars.. particularly ones from VW/AUDI/Porsche... which is directly connected to Hitler himself.:( |

Actually, I find the ISF quite nice, but if I were to choose one, it would be the CTS-V, because it's like the god of all sedans.
