the 5th and 6th gen camaros and challengers really are the top of the food chain thus far.as a geezer who lived through the musclecar era (60s.early 70s) i can assure you that nothing built back then could keep up with what we have right now.its hard to compete with 50 years of progress in tire and suspension technology.

It’ll be an interesting case study watching the market. After the newness where’s off how the ice Mustang sales compare to EV Dodge/Chevy pony cars. My prediction Mustang beats GM/Dodge combined (maybe double).
Ford could be sitting on a gold mine, and a good reason to bump horsepower up to 800-1000 on the GT500 to compete with the EV guys. Maybe not at the drag strip but that doesn’t interest me lol. It would destroy on the road course. Be interesting to watch for sure. I’ll be curious to see what GM does with the Vette. But that’s really a higher level target market. EVERY Dodge fan I know now is pissed they cancelled the Charger/Challenger and aren’t interested in EV regardless of HP. Only 6ppl but all 6.

Fake exhaust noise. How stupid. I haven’t seen anything yet that interest me. Weight? 25% better aerodynamics but weighs 6000lbs….

It looks long. I don't care for the sound. 6,000 lbs! Seriously? I wonder how functional that 'electro-mechanical shifting experience' is.

An A for effort on the body style. The rest of it? Too much of a stretch. Felt bad for the guy...Nice try, but put a fork in it, Muscle cars are done.

The sound is just dumb, it screams I really want an ICE car but this is what I’m stuck with. Ford is smiling right now. They are going to own the pony car market.

The front looks good, not a fan of the rear. I think it looks weird because they made it a hatch back. I am glad that they are at least trying to deliver the character that muscle car buyers want such as drive modes, some sort of simulated gear shifts, some sort of electro funk exhaust note, power shot of extra electrons.

Looks are not horrible but I agree with what others have said it is an EV that is trying to be something it is not. My first initial reaction is telling me nope sorry and if the mainstream Challenger/Charger guys feel the same way then that will be it. Ford is definitely going to rake in some extra business with the Mustang maintaining the V8 for another generation.
Wife likes the hornet though she said "Finally something in that segment that actually gets out of it's own way." If she were to buy one she would want the GT due to not wanting the hybrid. |

Yes, Ford will own a shrinking and near dead segment. Good for them. Sad for us but we are an ever shrinking group of enthusiasts. Long gone are the days when GM had a plant in California AND Ohio to build F-Body coupes for two brands
