Yea, I was blown away. He legit nice guy, didn't seem crazy, but I just didn't get that.
I'm beyond curious to hear from the turbo pros. I'm not so versed in the art, so I yield to the ones that are. Is that actually plausible and realistic? |

I think that individual misunderstood what he was told. Show me the dyno sheet. Even altitude corrected to 7000ft elevation and using horsepower at the crank - I can't calculate the 701hp claim with stock injectors, which would still need 50lb/hr injectors. The stock ones, I believe, are 43lb/hr. And, a ZL1 pump could get 700whp with larger injectors, maybe 58lb/hr. The TT setup can make the HP with adequate fueling, which a stock fuel pump and stock injectors cannot supply.

I think I remember talking to someone that said with a 100% stock fuel supply, you could run the system with the smallest spring. That just seems like a tease to me! I've got 850's and a Fore Double, so I think I can get to 700whp with that setup, and stock internals. I think it's doable....until the rear goes bang! Depending on the year of his camaro, he could already have the ZL1 pump... I would think he needs to spray alot of methanol to reach those numbers with stock injectors... but stranger things have happened.
I made 989rwhp/1031rwtq on 93 octane with 1000CC injectors / ZL1 PumP/ and meth injection... seems impossible... but meth is an incredible drug

Meth can stretch your injectors out but how much is the question, but if you're running on the edge you are taking a chance of putting holes in your pistons

Yea, I've heard over and over about why I should go meth. Not a lot of negatives to it, I hear. My goal is 625-650whp. If I can do that with the stock bottom end, the 850's and Fore Double pump, I'll happy. I want it to be tough, but tame. |

With a Fore double and 850's you should be good to 625-650. Running meth/H2O 50/50 is good for cooling and a bit more timing. Running 100% meth as a fuel is different if you are depending on it for octane/hedge against pre-ignition, you run the risk of if/when the meth pump gives out - you could grenade your engine.

I agree, dont use meth to stretch your fuel system. I just used it in this thread as an example of how power can be made with components that people expect not to be able to support it.

Do most the TT guys in here upgrade their rear ends as well? Like pretty much everything else n the build world I get a lot of mixed info. After I narrowed down the simple build I want to do, I am on the fence about the rear end. Ima do rear axles, might as well go 1400hp HD, in case I want to build more in the future. But the actual rear and driveline I'm on the fence about. I thought the TT build would be a lot easier to plan. But once you pop, I guess you can't stop. |

I have an AGP kit with twin 57/57’s and at 648 RWHP on 8 lbs of boost. I have a ZL1 fuel pump with a JMS boost a pump and quite a bit of room left for fueling. Just to give you an idea of what can be accomplished with minimal expense. But as we all know, that power level will only keep you happy for so long and you’ll want to up the boost. Plan accordingly on your fuel system and do it once. Doing it twice gets expensive n |

I went with 1000cc injectors thinking I'd never go more than 900 rwhp. I probable should have gone with 1300 for good measure. Last year I but in a complete rear cradle with diff and axels from a ZL1. I kept my OEM unit I took out as the car is a 1LE and only has 8500 miles. If your only doing roll racing with 600-650 rwhp your rear end should hold for quite a while, its the hard launches from a dig that will destroy it quickly.
