What an absolute monster.

I've been seeing that Cosworth had a hand in developing the engine.

I have had 7 new Corvettes since 2010. Both dealers I use said 18-24 months if I ordered a new 2022 Stingray today. Most dealers have a $20-$30k mark up on new C8's. Even used are getting $100k plus. It will be years before the prices come down to realistic, and that is on a Stingray. Z06 will be $$$$$$ for a long time.

I've been looking at the used C8 market for quite a while. Still can't get a used one for under $90k. This is why I like the Camaro, it truly is an affordable pony car. The C8 is affordable to a higher class of group then I'm in. Honestly, I like the Gen 6 Camaro Style better then the C8 anyway. I personally like the C7 better then the C8. The C8 is a beautiful car too, don't get me wrong.

Now the C8 Stingrays seem relatively pedestrian in comparison. I think the markups on the Stingrays will cool off once the Z06 is available (assuming they can produce enough Z06s to satisfy demand, given the chip issues still lingering).

I would like this car for the track, but I think some previous Z06 owners won’t be as interested. It’s making almost 200ftlbs less torque than the previous Z06. If you’ve ever driven a GT350 vs the previous GT500, you’ll know what I’m talking about. High revs and no torque aren’t what a muscle car guy is looking for. Also unless you are hardcore tracking the car, I’d skip the z07 package. You will really be wasting your $$$ and have very expensive parts to replace with the carbon wheels, rotors and brakes. Not to mention the R compound tires will not be suitable for the street at all. It’s still a hell of a car, but this is more suited for the ZLE crowd that are serious track guys.

So I've been drag racing for over 54 years and I've had some bad ass drag cars. Back in about 84 we built a 9/16 stroker small block with the best parts you could buy back then. Aluminum Rods, Forged pistons, forged crank, 14.5 to 1 compression on Alky and we built that motor to turn 8800 rpms and it did but it never sounded like that flat crank motor on the Z06. It was pretty fast back then running 9.70@136. Man that 5.5 is just a nasty ass beast. Wait till someone puts a blower, turbos, etc on that motor and someone will. Get ready Ford the Stang Gt500 killer has arrived.

absolutely! same with these lambo, ferrari etc people. I talked to a guy a few months ago with a huracan. He wont take it on the track because he cant get track insurance for it.

that said, he enjoys driving the sh*t out of the car on the street. this thing was built motor, supercharged. sounded so good, all wheel burnouts at speed, on the limiter. fun drive

haha i can understand not tracking a car like a camaro you know 70-80k whatever but if your going to buy a fast ass car that can do 200mph why not take it to the track at least once? lol i dunno its weird to me

I wish they discussed MSRP. But oh well.

I just checked in with my dealership to see if I'm still first on their list for the Z06 and I am, lol. However, if MSRP and markups put this car over $100K for a 1LZ then I'm backing out. I can afford it but I just can't justify spending that much for a car that has limited uses. We'll see soon enough.
