If you see one of these "Mustang" Mach-E (stupid name) in person, other than the tail lights, it is one of the most generic looking SUV's there is. Not impressive at all.

EV's are a scam anyway. Pay a lot more money for a car that limits your mobility and freedom and is based on a false premise of fossil fuels = bad.

They're routinely being sold for well over MSRP and beat the CRV by about 2.6 seconds 0-60 so I'm guessing quite a few people are interested. Many of them may not be current CR-V owners.

I watched Jason @ Engineering Explained's take on the Mach E. It's good in some ways, but he definitely also pointed some issues with it. My biggest takeaway is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. If you want to make it an SUV, fine, but at least make it so it has high ground clearance. You know, the one thing an SUV is supposed to be good at so you don't get stuck in snow and mud easily. But nope, it has pretty low ground clearance. Jason mentioned in the video that Ford is touting that "it handles like a car"... Well duh, if it has car ground clearance then of course it will handle like a car, but is it supposed to be a car or SUV? Make up your mind. Or make it a station wagon, then the ground clearance makes sense while you still pretty much have the same amount of space inside as an SUV. Car people also tend to hate station wagons way less than SUV's.

And gotta love the 225 width noodle tires. It's just one of those city SUV's that wants to be everything but ends up as a confused cluster.

While I can understand his review and feedback about ground clearance, I completely disagree. How many people actually take their SUV off road and who in their right mind would take something like a Mach E off road? It's not a truck, nor is it an off road vehicle, even being an SUV. An equinox or a traverse are considered SUV's, but you wouldn't take those off road. The Mach E is a perfect daily driver

No, you don't need to be doing off-road stuff for high ground clearance to matter. Just have some snow, live in an area where the municipality wouldn't bother clearing the snow, and I would have made my point.

That's the whole point of an SUV IMO. I want to make sure that even if the snow isn't cleared, I won't be stuck because of low ground clearance.

Either make a sleek car(again, a wagon can hold just about as much stuff as an SUV without looking as fugly), or make a practical SUV. Take your pick, and if you do the latter, don't use a sports car name.

So yeah, perfect daily driver*.

*Just pray that it doesn't snow more than an inch

And it isn't just about snow, because roads, pavement joints in parking lots, driveway connections etc. likely aren't going to be smooth everywhere you go. More clearance helps negotiate imperfect pavement and to some extent cancels out driver mistakes that would otherwise affect the bumper or the underside of the car.

I'll go ahead and just say I think the foxbody mustangs are hideous.

So are the foxbody camaros, but not as bad as the mustangs.

In what alternate universe was there a Fox body Camaro?

Lol how low do you think the Mach E is to have trouble with snow or parking lots? It's not a lambo... it does just fine guys. There are plenty of people that drive camaro's, mustangs, challengers, etc in the winter and do just fine. Obviously a foot of snow would hinder any vehicle, but a couple inches, come on. I've driven a Mach E and it's all around fantastic, not sure why we're saying freaking parking lots are going to hurt it. Are your parking lots on the side of a mountain arpad_m?

Oh wow, are you going to be alright?

Show me on this doll where the EV touched you:

Lets be clear, on this site, these people don't do "just fine", these vehicles are FANTASTIC and GREAT at winter driving like on snow and ice!

Ill be honest that was was pretty dumb comparison but whatever. It's no worse than Chevy slapping the Camaro like front end on the new Trailblazers. The fact is trucks and suvs sell a ton more than your standard muscle/sports car so I give Ford props for using their brand wisely.
