FIXED! Both heated seats not working? 13 ZL1 convertible

Tonight we went for a drive and it was a little chilly so my wife and I pressed the heated seat button and nothing. No lights at all. We thought "well, maybe they don't work when the top is down" (which is silly) but nope.. still nothing.

I've seen a lot of threads where it will come on then turn off, but we get no lights on whatsover when pushing the buttons.

Is this possibly the same issue?

My next step was to see if the heated seats have a dedicated fuse that maybe blew, but if that's the case it worries me something else down the line is shorted.

Thanks!

I think you should get a light even when it turns on. I had the all famous wire burned in half in my seat. I still got a light when the button was pressed. However it would go off after about 30 seconds.

I have that issue in my driver's seat. Passenger seat heater works fine. I am in Florida so it's no big deal, but I would like to fix it eventually as it is nice to have everything working.

If it stays on for about 30 seconds it is a simple fix. I can do a quick write up if you want to tackle it.

No lights come on for either side at all. I did find one other member who had the issue and disconnecting and reconnecting solved the issue. Probably corroded.

Are these connections able to be reached without removing the seats? It's worth a try to clean them and use a little dielectric grease on them. I like to cruise with the top down and seat warmers on on chilly days.

If it is in the same place as mine it is really easy to access. Just mean the seat forward and unzip the cover from the seat. Look at where the base and the back meet in the center and you will see two wires going through the seat back. That is where mine was messed up at.

Ok, I went out and checked and I have 2 ohms on the heater wire. The fuse is good under the hood.

The only other thing I can think of is:

1. The lights don't work

or

2. The lights don't work and the warmers don't work.

My car does have the PAC stereo kit installed. Is there a way that it's possible the seat warmers were not hooked up or were accidentally disconnected when it was installed? Here's a picture:

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for behind the HVAC controls in the dash? I'd like to check some wires to see if things are ok back there.

I have the unit out right now as I tried replacing the knobs with new ones but no avail.

But, they do light up when the ignition is turned on... so that's a good sign. I don't recall them doing that before.

thanks!

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but I also attached a pdf of the heated seat circuit below under the image. This is for 2010 model year so I don't know what or if anything has changed.

Update!!! It's Fixed!! I was on YT a while back and asked about the issue. Some great guy found my post months later and said it's most likely the heated seat module. Gave me a part number (13575063) and I ordered it off ebay. Now, when I went to replace it I saw mine was part number 13582417.

Doing some more looking it's possible that this new one supersedes the one I have installed.

Well I'll be damned if they don't both work again!

So, just posting this in case others have an issue!
