I bought rally stripes from them years ago that were supposed to be good for 7 years but were cracking after 2 years. Vinyl looked great the first year but quickly deteriorated after that. I bought silver stripes to go on my black Monte so maybe that combo not good. I would expect you might get better life on vertical surfaces anyways.

What did you not like about my response that compelled you to say it again? See post 13.

Ahh Thanks for the heads up. I appreciate you sharing ...I'll steer clear.

I do, indeed, know about Plastidip. I think that masking and taping off of the rounded ends and making it look right is infinitely more difficult than everyone believes it to be. A quality vinyl kit can be perfectly cut. That is why a vinyl kit is first on my list and masking and painting is second( either paint or plastidip). I may have to resort to a non-vinyl solution but that is after I run into a dead end with vinyl

If you do go this route I would invest in some knifeless tape.

Ok Eddie I understand, it's not easy to make the edges clean with masking tape!
In any case you are lucky to have your SS badges , in France they were sold without!
It's forbidden

I am looking for the blackout like the above...
Thanks,

I know that in the UK when they sold the SS they had to change the name and leave the badge off the car, but I thought you could just add it yourself afterwards. Does France not even allow that?

It is not that I can’t make the edges clean, it is trying to match the tape to a curved body line that is difficult . I circled the rounded corner I’m referring to in the pic below. It is like trying to draw a perfect circle. With the vinyl, the body lines are digitized and the vinyl cut to that highly accurate digitized body line. There is no free-handing anything and the cut vinyl shape is essentially perfect.

As for the SS emblems, they are aftermarket and I installed them. In France you can’t even put them on yourself?

Normally yes, we can put new ones on but the initials SS is still very much seen, and I think that is why it was raised, on the European versions
