We met a guy with a B5 Blue R/T Classic last night at a car meet. Nice guy. He said when the car was stock, the weight just killed the performance. He threw a supercharger on it running 8 pounds of boost, and now that it has 500hp. He said he doesn't worry about NA Mustangs and Camaros anymore.

Maybe. I've never been in a Charger. As a matter of fact, this Challenger is the first Dodge I've even been in as I wasn't really a fan up until this car came out.

Two years ago if you'd told me I'd own a Dodge anything I'd have laughed at you.

I was initially a little disappointed with the Challenger RT but after adding a few mods, a tune and 8000 miles, she is broke in and will hold her own against a STOCK SS or SRT. The trick is getting off the line (the launch) correctly.

As for the interior, I love it. I can't stand lots of bling or wood grain finish and its easy to clean. It's perfect for me.

My Mustang really woke up with a CAI/tune. It really felt like a different car. The 3V 4.6 responds well to mods. Mine just has a CAI/tune, LT headers, and an O/R h-pipe. It puts down 305hp and 322 torque at the wheels.

With the tune, what type of hp gain at the wheels do you see with a Challenger R/T?

My R/T put down 335 HP and 355tq dead stock with 1000 miles on the odo.

With just a Magnaflow cat back and Mopar CAI (which isn't really cold) I put down 348hp and 373tq again with 1000 miles on the odo as I made the changes on the dyno so I could test same day and all that. The runs were about an hour apart.

Tunes don't do a whole lot for 6 speed Challenger. Maybe another 10 - 15HP with bolt ons.

I think with full bolt ons to include LT headers, high flow cats, cat back, CAI, and tune you get around 360 RWHP and 390 RWTQ. This is on an R/T. SRTs are about 20 or so more.

Here's my graphs:

Since bolts ons don't do a whole lot, I'm forgoing that route and just planning for a Kenne Bell blower and call it a day at 500RWHP and 500RWTQ.

I didn't know the 10's came with a CAI installed. Ford says it adds 15 HP (315 total at the crank, I assume).

Speedy, what is a "Ford Accessory power up kit?" I don't know anything about the new Mustangs (or Ford for that matter).

I am actually glad you bought your challenger and others opted for a mustang. The streets would be pretty boring with everyone driving the same type of vehicle.
Nice car by the way

Mine isn't a 2010. It's a 2007. I added the CAI, it's a JLT.

And yeah, the 315hp on the 2010s is at the crank.

It's nuts, but they're Ford Accessories to boost the power of a GT Mustang. There are three stages.

Stage 1 - 400HP
Stage 2 - 475HP
Stage 3 - 550HP

I assume all are crank numbers. It's basically different iterations of a Whipple Supercharger badged as a Ford performance part. The 550HP one is 11psi and intercooled.

I think it's awesome that you can get that type of stuff from the dealer.

I sure wish Dodge did something like that. I'd be all over it.

Ford is very good about optioning out their vehicles. The only vehicle I know of that GM options out (only one stage) is the new cobalt SS, it adds a power upgrade kit which gives you 30 more HP, and 30 more lbs of torque. (I'm guessing it's 30, the power kit makes around 290 HP at the crank, but IDK if the SS starts at 260 or not. I believe it does, but I could be wrong. )
