I guess they did not set the date and time. It was test and tune night. They also say 3am but it was around 8pm

Why won’t they let you avoid the water box? That real dumb especially for a street tire like that.

you must be able to get below a 2.0 60'...anything above 2.0 is definitely a wasted run. Even my 5800lb 420hp 2018 Silverado 1500 will manage a 1.99! You can do it!

No idea, I have to ask them next time I go. But it appears that a lot of people do not like that either, at least ones I have talked to. The location is convenient though, about 10 minutes from my house. So super easy to get off work and just drive down there.

I know, Its been a struggle to get under 2.2, I am still avg 2.4. Have to find the right launch settings etc... I have been easing off the gas and that has improved it slightly.

Now I don’t think it’s your tires or settings that are keeping you from doing a 1.99-2.0 in the 60.’ I think it’s the water box. You can do a little burn out to fling off the water of the rear tires but what about the front. Those tires have lots of grooves and the water just collects there and then it’s transferred onto the surface. You then line up you rear tires on top of the wet surface and are just spinning.

NiteBlitz, are you leaving on the green light or the last yellow?

Also, the water box thing makes no sense to me. Like Marko commented. That sounds like a recipe for someone’s ass end getting squirrely out of the hole, possibly sending them towards the wall.

Actually when I was young and it was my first time at the drag strip, I drove through the water box and they nearly kicked me out.
I also pulled right up to the tree. Lol.
Hey, in my defence I had nobody to teach or show me how it was done. Learning lessons.

I also thinking other cars in front of me must leave some water on the track as well.

Last yellow, my reaction time has not been bad Avg .1379 on those.

The first time I ran there 2 weeks ago, they were pretty nice ppl. They explained the tree that I should be leaving on the last yellow and not green. Where to pull the car up. .They told me next time I come I need to have a helmet, if the car runs under 8.69 I think they said, Also the guy that is giving me the slip always had some suggestions for me. I got to ask them about this water box thing.

What's wrong with driving through the water box...

QFT.

That is abismal.

60’ is where it’s at. A tenth there is worth 2-3 tenths in the 1/4.
