I REALLY recommend the Cobalt. It's got all the great features of an economy car...plus some get-up-n-go when you want to have a wee bit of fun.

I've already replaced the brakes. Transmission feels like it going to give out any day now.

You know what the SS get in the City? That is pretty much the best deal I've found so far. But if it doesn't get over 25 MPG city then screw it lol.

Looks like anywhere between 21-23. What other cars are you looking at? (Bet they don't meet that criteria, either. ) 25 city is a relatively tall order for an older car. :(

My 98 Regal GS gets 25-26 in combined mileage. Not bad for a car with 217K miles and that 3.8L supercharged engine. The only downside is I have to use premium. The regular Regal, or the Grand Prix GT or Monte Carlo, should do better and only use regular.

Great 'Ice Age' reference.

I had a Saturn SC2 that got me 34MPG and the beater 2000 Cavalier I had got about the same. A used Cobalt should return over 30MP, especially with a stick.

I agree. Like I said, my car gives me consistant 33mpg..and I don't do only highway driving. It just sounded like he was looking for the EPA ratings...

I really don't see any fuel efficient cars as cheap as a Cobalt, besides a malibu and festiva but I have standards.

Unless you were making payments on your car with 180000 miles on it. then your making a good trade, but I suspect your not. Do you have the 12 grand to buy the car, or are you going to make payments on it. Cuz trading gas payments for monthly payments/ along with gas payments never made much sense to me no matter how much your saving..

It'll only cost me $2,000-$4,000 more than what I can get out of the truck. I'll be keeping the car for, at the very least, 2 years.

Get you a Chevy Aveo and ride forever. On the back get a bumper sticker that says "My other car is a Camaro".

Again I have standards. At least the Cobalt is decent looking... The Aveo looks like a smart car wannabe.
