GM would never. I’m still surprised the ZR2 even made it on dealer lots.

Yes, it is a bit shocking; however, in typical GM fashion, they did play it fairly close to the vest. The ZR2 brings some impressive off-road tech, but it still only receives the same engine options as the standard Colorado. It would have been nice to see a few tweaks to the available engines just to provide a little bit more punch to set it apart from the rest of the Colorado family.

It appears that the upcoming ZRX Silverado is going to follow this same blueprint as well. From the rumblings, it will essentially be a full-sized ZR2 and will use the 6.2L engine that is already available in other Silverado models. An extra 40-50 ponies would be nice, but everything that I am hearing, GM will stay the course and simply pull a 6.2L off of the shelf and put it into this new variation.

Maybe we get a version of the LT2 in this truck at 500hp or so.

Agree.

GM may be successful at that though. There are quite a few "never own a raptor with a v6" crowd that would consider other brands if equivalent performance.

The Ram TRX still coming for sure?
