Of course, I got sick, so what do I know!?!?!?!?
True statement, I agree totally, makes sense, however for me, I have not left my block or contacted another human outside of my household in 4 weeks. I think it'll be ok. I live on a couple of acres, so the house is quite isolated as is, I only go in the yard or a walk down the block and the the neighbors all keep plenty of distance. Only a dozen houses on this cul de sac, so almost zero chance of catching anything from anyone.

When I actually do get out again, I will be shaven and man will I get a haircut! Yikes!!!! LOL! It is just fun for now for our daily video chats.

But yes, you are quite correct about the face touching and mask sealing.
Besides, I am still waiting for my Camaro, so I can't even have driving fun!

If you need a Guinea Pig, lemme know.

I have already reflected to my boss the irony of engineers being able to continue business from home. I'm in R&D and if we can so-easily pick up where we left off, no real engineering work is being done.

When something relevant comes up, I'll share it here. I don't want to distract from people sharing their stories though. I've read every comment on this thread and I see that my situation is pretty easy when compared to most others.

The district of Beijing that I live in has only had 10 cases the entire time, and hasn't had a new case since February.

I assumed that my district was going to be hard hit because of the the airport and a lot of people who work for the airport live around me.

Additionally, the exhibition center is literally across the street from my compound so while I am bummed that the Beijing Auto Show was rescheduled I know it was a good choice.

Everyone, play it safe.

The ruse and its numbers game is starting to fall apart. The grand experiment was a complete success. Good news for us going back to work, soon.

I'm shocked all these businesses do not have reserve capital for emergencies!!!! Multi million dollar companies can't operate without income for a month?!??!! I always learned you should have 6 months operating capital.

And people have no savings at all?!?!? I worked low level job for the state and never made much money but I ate rice and beans until I had an emergency fund in savings account.

All these people who are screaming about personal responsibility when it comes to keeping themselves from getting sick (which is pretty out of your control) are also the ones that need to work because they didn't save any money (which is something you can control.)

That's my rant. It's only been a few weeks!

The statistics are there. Is this an automatic death sentence? No, however the numbers don't lie when it comes to potential of getting it and the death rate for those that do is higher than anything we have seen since HIV.

Just because it has not affected you or anyone close to you, doesn't mean it should be dismissed.

It's only a ruse until you or someone close to you gets it. Same goes for unemployment, while you may be still working, the numbers don't lie for how many are not and have had to file for unemployment.

It has been a lie.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_c...ature=emb_logo
There are some statistics to think about. No 2.2million people won't die like they said, 30% of those infected won't die. Now CDC is ordering cause of death to be listed as COVID if there is any chance it is related. This will make it look like COVID 2020 is similar to the 60,000 listed deaths of the regular flu in years past but in reality is an even lower number of deaths because those years cause of death was often listed as other things despite having the flu.
HCQ works so there goes there is no medicine lie
https://www.foxnews.com/media/karen-...-saved-my-life

Retail stores are down up to 90% of business. Paying commercial space rent and salaries isn't at all like saving up for new tires or car repairs.
For those who don't know a smallish 3k' space in a strip mall is about $5000 with all the fees and in a traditional mall $15k. Retail and restraunts I'm familiar with are closed or in very upside down financials now. Suppliers are also going bankrupt and closing.
An example of a previously profitable small restraunt now hanging by a thread and most of it's employees laid off
https://www.sacbee.com/news/local/sa...241631151.html

When someone decides to declare this over the business won't suddenly be like it was due to consumer sentiment and so many lost incomes. Like I said a month ago this over-reaction will hurt many people.
"CarMax to furlough more than 15,000 associates";Dick’s Sporting Goods is furloughing most of its 40,000 employees; Airline travel has dropped 96 percent (nearly zero passengers), in today's local headlines.

I haven't heard of anyone dying that went to the hospital or got a prescription before they had lung and organ failure and started on HCQ and Azithromycin.

Edit: On the other lie of small businesses getting all that free money on the US GOV Small Business Administration site which promises a deposit in 3 days, I haven't received it nor have heard of anyone getting that yet either. Looks like the SBA COVID19 CARES only cares for big business.

We have been working seven days a week since Christmas producing different types of ppe for the medical community. Ironically the perfect storm of an election year a pandemic and a inadequate response have put money in my pocket. I may never recover the loss to my 401 and company stock.

No. It's a lie and ruse. So many people in this thread already said so.

I can't even look at my 401k which is 100% oil & gas stock. At least you're in the right field for this one and being rewarded for the hard work. I'm working my ass off from home just waiting on the layoff notice to come.

According to this, (which is updated constantly) 96% of the people who have the virus only have "mild symptoms" (flu like I'd guess).

4% have moderate to severe symptoms.
Out of THAT 4%, 21% die (or less than 1 out of 4 of 4% worldwide).

While being the one, or related to the ones, that die really sucks, you'd think it would be MUCH easier to quarantine those that are most susceptible to dying from it and letting the other 96% of the population continue to run the planet....

I can relate working from home the 1st emails came that said we'll take care of our employees. Now it's will take care of everyone as long as possible. Just waiting for we can no longer afford to keep running this way and my "papers".
Unfortunately I just returned from being disabled so no seniority or unemployment for me. Thank god for money markets where I'd kept a majority of my money.

Our company is laying off for the next 6 weeks. Half the shop for the 1st 3 weeks and the other half for the latter 3 weeks. It could be longer but, there’s also a chance it could be shorter. I’m personally doing one day at a time. Speculation of what could be, at this time, just seems counter productive, imho.
