For the most part though, time well spent.

Big screen + blu ray = win! I love when it cuts to the imax scenes and it goes to full screen! No black bars. Its almost as good as it was on a huge imax screen. Only problem is you feel dissapointed when it goes back.

There are some actual plot wholes but many perceived ones can be filled in with logic.

Don't keep reading if you haven't seen it yet.

For one, Optimus wasn't brought back with the cube. He was brought back with the matrix of leadership. But Megatron was brought back with the cube, or a fragment of it. The whole cube was too much raw energy and when combined with Megatrons spark, it killed him. But when just a small shard was administered by The Doctor, it revived him.

There were some serious flaws with this movie, but its just a movie and I can get over them.
Well being the nerd I am and following the comics, toons and movies(cartoons ones)...The cube is raw energy and the "base" dna for their race. If the cube is injected into a item, when it transforms it become whatever is in control of cybertron. That would be the decepticons. Thus why all the items are basically bad.

As why the cube brought prime back to life, because its raw energy. Think of it like this. If you take a shock when your alive, it would probably kill you. But yet if your heart is stoped and they hit you, it can bring you back. Same theory.

Megatron was alive, and had raw energy many times his own forced into his chest. Prime was dead and was basically jumped started back to life by it. And it was the matrix of leadership, which is a small spark of the cube itself.

Supposedly disc 2 on BluRay has a build a transformer thing which gives hints to the robots in TF3. I have not looked at it yet because Thursday is my alcohol+movie=win night.

I bought the 2 disc big screen special edition bluray from walmart on my lunch break. Need to set up the surround sound before we watch it (we just moved recently) to do it justice.
Wal-Mart didn't have any blu-ray ones. I went last night. I can't find the blu-ray TF2 anywhere.

You have to ask for it. They said something about not being able to keep the shelf stocked.

Loved the movie but they should have had him wearing the OFICIAL 2010 CAMARO leather bomber jacket when he was out in Bumblebee.

Picked it up yesterday in the morning. Wal*Mart has the 2 disc set for the same price as the single disc $19.96. I now need a bigger HD TV and surround sound... Love the slow-motion fights...

Are you sure your TV isn't set wrong? Your display goes from black bars to full screen and back again during the same movie?

I might be the only one, but I really thought the movie sucked. Maybe its just that I'm comparing it to the first one. It just didn't have any sort of plot and we didn't get to know any of the characters. We loved Optimus and Bumblebee after the first movie, but the only new characters we learned were the 2 irritating twins. Great special effects and CGI, though.

I have a 52" widescreen HDTV. It has the bars in 16x9 format during most of the movie. Then it switches to full screen during the scenes that were filmed in Imax (forest fight and Devastator/Pyramid). Its the same thing that happened in the Imax theater version. It looked like a normal movie for most of it, but then during those scenes it would go full Imax at 30' tall! It was awesome. During the forest fight, some scenes showed Optimus at real life height! I wish I would have seen it more times in Imax, but having a big screen with the bluray version is good enough.

Question

wait, hold the phone, the blu ray shows the stuff that was seen in the IMAX version? did the blu ray of part 1 show the extended bits, i have it but have not had the chance to pop it in (plan on doing a TF 1/2 BR double feature on the LCD set hooked to my 770 watt home theater .).

I was just reading on a forum that the wal mart version of TF2 blu ray is the one that has the full screen 'IMAX' bits the others are just ordinary versions but with different packaging (depends on the store), and the TF1 blu ray is theater cut, but there is/was plans for a extended edition to come out when ROTF hit theaters but never panned out.

I watched it on a 46" widescreen HDTV and bluray. I got the bluray from Netflix and didn't see any of the bars that you're talking about. I wonder if its because of what Dave said below and that only the Walmart version has the IMAX scenes.

Actually I said it wrong. The movie plays in a 21:9 aspect ratio but most HDTVs are only 16:9 like mine. So if you want to see everything, there will be black bars. However, most bluray players or the TVs themselves will zoom the picture in to remove them. I think the walmart bluray tells the system not zoom because of the imax footage. I'd have to try a non-walmart copy to verify.
