Question for SS 1LE owners who Track at Laguna

I have been to Laguna in my Camaro for 3 different track days now. I noticed that under heavy braking into turn 2 the back end gets light squirrelly. I don’t remember my 911 getting that squirrelly, I guess there are some advantages to have the motor over the rear wheels .
I have an SS with the 1LE suspension upgrade, reprogrammed MRC, factory big brake kit, and Zl1 wheel and tires. I have been thinking of adding the 1LE the Rear trailing links and Rear Knuckle to see if it helps settle the car down under heavy braking.
What I am wondering is do SS 1LE cars get squirrelly in this braking zone as well? I realize this is a down hill braking zone and which makes the car light in the rear so it might just be physics

Not sure if this helps but my zl1 1le is very stable braking into T2. My M3 is unstable as you are describing though.
I’m not sure specifically what the zl1 has over our ss that is making it more stable though. It’s likely a combination of the aero and suspension though.

The rear cradle bushings are your issue.

You need to either put the BMR lockout kit OR ZL1 1LE solid rear cradle bushing kit in. This makes the biggest difference to the rear-end staying planted and gets rid of the side to side sway.

I've run many laps at Laguna in my stock SS 1LE, (lap time 1.40), some movement under braking for T2 but I think it's just a heavy car going into downhill braking zone at high speed.

Thanks
Were you at Laguna on Monday? There was a white 1LE running with Checkered Flag, I was running with Trackmasters at the same event.

Thanks, I had one other recommendation to add the sold rear cradle bushings. What does this do to the overall ride and control over bumps? I am concern about it skipping over rougher surfaces.

I am sure the larger wing on the 1LE does help with more down force on the rear. I don’t notice this as much at Sonoma or Thunderhill, I think Laguna has more down hill braking where the aero more stable rear suspension helps to counter the rear getting light.

It doesn't change any of the vertical motions of your suspension. That is springs and shocks.

What it does do is eliminate the side to side sway from the rubber bushings. I noticed NO / ZERO adverse effects from the change.

I was there this past Monday, though I wasn't in the Camaro. Back when I had an SS 1LE I don't recall having too much unsettling coming into turn 2, a bit though.

Makes sense, thanks!

I am sure the upgrades from SS to 1LE are doing the trick. Sounds like its time to update thinks a little or live with it.
