Widest tire size for a 2019 1LE?????

I'm pretty sure there is a post out there about this question, but I couldn't find it... I was curious about how wide of a tire I can go for 2019 Camaro SS 1LE stock wheels... I am lowered .7 in the front and back(Eibach springs).

Thank you!!! I do wanna go Mickey Thompson tires for the back...cheers.

Being lowered I think you took yourself out of the conversation for the most part. I can't think Ive read any one > 305 anyway. And a 305/35 needs a harness relocated in the rear for possible rubbing. Im not sure on the front I think you get stuck @ 285, too.

Not sure on the exact answer, but you can probably just search the same topic for 17-18 1LEs as they use the same wheels. It won't be different for the 2019.

Do the Eibach springs perform better than the stock?

We would need track evidence back to back with/without, same day, with a reputable driver behind the wheel (Randy Pobst etc). Since we don't, we can't know for sure and more likely than not, the difference will be negligible or the car will be slightly slower with the aftermarket springs.

Possibly, but you're going to open up an impossibly ignorant argument from the armchair engineers of the world here.

While lowering a vehicle does in fact have an impact on the suspension geometry (it doesn't "change the geometry" as many people claim, that just isn't how geometry works at all lol high school) and reduce articulation.... you don't really need additional articulation on the street, and lowering a vehicle an inch or less puts it well within the compression range of the stock components *where the vehicle sits during a corner on stock springs anyway* so really that entire argument is daft AF.

You also have the benefit of reducing the center of gravity, which has more of an impact on performance than losing 3.4 degrees of articulation.

So some test data would be good, and really we should be at the point where we as consumers expect this from the suppliers we give money to; but it doesn't need to be hermetically controlled vehicle lap times including BP data from the driver and all that, simple skidpad/figure 8 testing would reveal more than enough about peak road holding and transitional responses to make a determination whether or not there was an improvement. Again, the manufacturers *should be doing this* as part of thier testing anyway and yes we should expect to see data from them.

You are shortening the springs, which requires a higher spring-rate to not bottom out, which in turn requires more compression and rebound damping to control the springs. That's not armchair engineering, that's basic suspension theory.

It's also far too basic to have any accuracy at all.

You could try again, though.

Yep. And that's why when serious race shops offer different height springs, they offer differently damped shocks to go with them. Been there done it.
Besides, ours are MRC tech, which may further complicate things.

Yeah, changing the springs requires changing the dampers, if you wanted to do things properly.
