I'm with you on pricing - my guess is between 62-65K

HP won't be that high. LT2 will hover in the 500 range.

Agreed

Exactly, not going to happen. LT2 isn't that powerful NA.

That was also a less than 30 hp increase from the LS3 in the C6. This would be 200 or so.

The only difference is the C6 Z06 was NA as was the base C7.

the C7 ZO6 is superharged and according the the rumor mill the base C8 engine is a revised LT1 so I don't see it coming close to the C7 Z06 HP if those rumors are true

like I said, its a shot in the dark. I can't see this corvette coming out with less that 500 but I'm optimistic that they want it to be a huge huge hit so I see it being more

My guesses are:

MSRP: $68,995
Curb weight base model: 3450 lbs
Power/torque: 485 hp and 465 lb ft.

That would be pretty solid for the base car IMO.

I will guess

69,995
Curb weight 3550
HP 500 Torque 485

Comparing my stock C7 GS numbers:
3300lbs.
460hp 465tq

I see the base C8 coming in it at:
$67k ($10k more than the base C7)
3500lbs
500hp 500tq

Doesn't matter if it makes the same HP as a Mustang GT. This Corvette will outclass it in every way, and due to the weight and chassis, would still likely be faster from a dig and in a straight line. Corvette, even the current C7 is a step up...no way around that.

I'll play the guessing game also.

$64,950
3,450lbs
485HP 490TQ

BUT...who actually thinks we'll get all of the above information today? I don't think we will. We may not get any of the above information.

Price is what makes or breaks this Corvette, just as all Corvettes before it. We all know the car is going to be a wonderful performer, but if the starting price is 100 grand...who cares. If the starting price is mid 60s...THAT makes it special.

3300 for a C7 GS? I thought the NA Stingrays were pushing 3500 lbs or so. But its been a while since I've looked any of that up.

I'd put money on getting none of that info ahead of getting all of it. But they might give floor/ceilings for some of the specs, if not exact values. "The base car will come with at least XX more power than the outgoing car, and will be priced within YYYY" or something like that.

Are you staying up?

They could have done it an hour earlier, that way, 7pm on the west coast, everybody home from work etc.
