You're right, they'd probably have to bring the horsepower down a bit. That's fine with me, it'll pull harder with the front wheels, so FWD should more than make up for it.

From what I hear they are working on a new engine technology. It's called DEI. The engine is made to act similar to a turbo, yes it is an FI engine. In a turbo setup the exhaust causes the turbo to spool and create boost. With this new DEI technology, there is no need for a turbo. The exhaust is directly injected back into the engine, creating an infinite amount of boost and creating an imense amount of power to the wheels.

But shhhhhh. I didn't say anything..........

Thats due to racing restrictions though. They currently run a 6.0L LS7 I think.

If this is a serious thread then all Camaros will have FWD, though AWD is possible

Maybe they're holding off on the AWD until the Z28 comes out.

In any event, I hope they work the bugs out of this High HP FWD platform. I seem to remember drivetrain problems with the Grand Prix GTP, but I haven't heard much about the FWD Malibu having issues.

Not currently, future. I don't have my latest R&T in front of me but it said they were fielding a 5.5 in 2010 that would soon be seen across their lineup.
