That was serious too, at some point some people at GM talked about it. I tend not to believe stuff like this until I actually see an announcement from GM.

Ok, if you recall, GM made a huge effort on the C6 to get the size of the car more compact to appeal to the global market. The C6 is now the overall length the Porsche 911.

GM, realizing the huge success of the Camaro believes that the name alone could generate HUGE sales numbers on a global basis................if it were just smaller to fit the narrow roads and small parking structures in most of Europe and Asia. The big RWD Zeta based car doesn't fit the bill.

So to quickly take advantage of the hot selling name, Camaro, GM will quickly transition to a FWD platform, Iota or simply I. This will enable a super Camaro that will make even Shnomac's dream of the not announced Z28 seem trivial. Imagine a Camaro that can win any rally right from the factory. Yes, it will be that impressive.

Cuz there isn't one Iota of truth to this story

This is my new favorite thread.

I'm going to hold off on ordering until after New Years to make sure I get the FWD model. I'm gonna dust some GTI's!

LOL don't you use your damned pointy ear logic on me Spock.

No what I'm saying is that things are subject to change without notice until they are locked down. So I think it's perfectly reasonable that somebody at GM is talking about this right now, it's reasonable that someone else is arguing the other side too though.

I will say though that FWDs have improved tremendously though in the last 5 years so I don't doubt you could make a fast as hell vehicle FWD. Someone said it could be 200-300lbs lighter, I'd actually bet you could go 500lbs lighter (3300-3400lbs) and keep the same interior dimensions.

Something else to consider.

Aren't FWD cars all required to have at least one performance Decal installed on them? I mean the low cost performance gains from Decal Boost alone make the FWD Camaro extremely viable.
