I tried various RPMs. 2000, 2200, 1800, 1500. Anything above 2000 and it just spins and spins resulting in a 6 second plus 0-60.

Yes I am feathering the clutch as I ease it out and then roll into the throttle. It still seems to start breaking loose and once the tires start spinning it hits the RPMs quickly so I snatch 2nd, and it just continues spinning.

5.36 isn't bad, but my goal is sub 5 seconds. A buddy of mine got a 4.6X in his auto R/T today.

Have you ever watched how LS3 guys get the 4.3 or better in their Corvettes?

Unless you have sticky tires, you BARELY get the car going, and once you've got forward momentum you ease into it and finally go WOT

Pretty much. I think he may have an exhaust and CAI. Lot's of guys in basically stock R/Ts are getting under 5 seconds over on the Challenger forum.

I'll try that technique and see how I do.

ok, cool. was that with stock tires too do you know?

also, i'm still getting used to shift points with mine. did you find yourself hitting the rev limiter quite fast? i find myself hitting it too often which kills my runs. i gotta get used to peeking down at the tach i guess.

No, the tires are Toyo Proxes 4s I think.

Yeah I seem to hit the limiter in 2nd pretty easily. The torque never dies off so it's hard to judge when the RPMs are at their limit.

I have hit the rev limiter 2 or 3 times myself.(2nd gear)

I even hit it down shifting one time.

This car gets to redline quick.

I really watch that RPM gauge now.

I have an '09 R/T with the 6 speed,my best time on the evic is a 4.75,try launching at 2000-2200rpms and feather the clutch till you get moving,if you spin at all your times will be over 5sec,try shifting at 5000- 5300rpms,this is what works for me.

cool, thanks dblnut. and welcome.

i will give that a shot. i'm finding myself getting better at feathering at launches cause i'm known to baby my cars a little too much so high revving clutch dumps dont normally happen with me

Well, the Challenger won another 1st place in a huge car show yesterday in the modified class.

I also completely annihilated a Mustang with Roush badges and body panels on the way to the show. Hopefully it was just the stage one or whatever that is just the body kit. We were in the interstate and he saw me come up on him so he hit his brakes to slow down so we could get side by side at about 60MPH. I was in 5th gear not expecting much and when I looked over he just romped on it. I mashed the throttle thinking I'd get embarrassed but I started to pull past....once I he was at my rear bumper I had time to down shift to 4th and it was bye bye.
