Thank god! The interior looks nice (besides the angular format, and especially the speedometers) but the exterior is just way to futuristic.

Too futuristic? That statement always makes me laugh for some reason. I love this concept and love even more the interior. It would sell like hot-cakes as the current design is simply "Blah" the more I see them on the road. GM really needs to come up with a C7 that looks very close to this design. Look what that did and how well it worked with the Camaro... Nuff said..

Most current and past Vette owners do not like it...but here is what Welburn had to say about it
http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...it-window.html

In an interview with Inside Line, Ed Welburn, General Motors' head of global design, father of the re-born Camaro, told us the next Vette will follow the 2010 Camaro down the road of retro-inflected styling

This was hinted at by the Corvette Stingray concept that was used in the second Transformers movie. "That car is not the next Corvette," says Welburn, "But the split-window is something that I expect for the next Corvette."

With the headlight redesign, the current Camaro looks a lot like the Ferrari 360 Modena. Most current Vette enthusiasts may not like the new Vette design, however it is a new audience Chevy needs to get interested in the Vette. Even if 40% of Vette enthusiasts like the Stingray concept, that is more than enough if it brings in the amount of people buying this car because they want the Batmobile.. If all they take is the split rear window from this concept, it won't be enough... I hope it the large rear flares are kept as well and that wonderful interior.. The front end may be too unrealistic for safety and production however it needs to be dramatic and completely different than the current design. Even if you lose some aerodynamics in the process.

Visit the Vette forums and do some research on this topic as it is new to this forum but has been going on for years over there and GM has never really had a problem with selling the vette as the Execs say "The Corvette keeps the lights on at GM" they are making an effort to keep them (loyalist) happy.

I like it, and would buy it. I don't think its too futuristic, cause honestly? Those doors SCREAM 1980's the one thing I DON'T like.

I like the roof/window line, though not the split rear windows and I love the interior.

Point me to the best Vette forum since I haven't got a clue. Ultimately the corvette loyalists should be a priority, however the current corvette body and shape does not appeal to the masses and relies on the enthusiasts. I for one had many opportunities to buy a Corvette and chose not too because the interior looked and felt cheap to me. The interior was almost exactly the same materials as my old Pontiac G6. However the body looked cool before the headlight redesign in my opinion as well. I believe with a more exotic body like this new stingray concept, GM would double the sales compared to only selling to die hard enthusiasts. You may knock of 40% of enthusiasts however by doubling or tripling the sales and bringing in a newer, younger crowd. Then it more than makes up for the lost enthusiast crowd who wouldn't like to see drastic change.

If you build it, they will come!

Those are great shots, I have about 15 others at work, but not those. It's been a screensaver at work for several months. Most of the other Corvette owners at work are waiting for it...like myself. No doubt, I'm getting it in black.

PS, the coolest view is the front and from the top where it really looks like the '63 split back. I'm ordering day one.
