At that weight, it would be slower than the ZL1. But there's no way that it could be that heavy. It expect 3,700~3,800lbs. max.

No GT500 will ever be lighter than a regular GT while still hitting the 55 - 70K price point.

It will be heavier than that - the 2019 GT PP2 is 3860lbs on a scale. https://www.autoevolution.com/news/2...bs-121423.html

Add S/C, intercooler, heavier/stronger drivetrain components and the weight goes up.

My guess will be 4000lbs with fluids give or take how much gas is in it. Oh and definitely a cross-plane crank - too many issues with the Voodoo engines eating themselves for Ford to go flat-plane in the GT500.

Like I mentioned in the vs thread. there is stuff in there to make it look fake, such as petrol being spelled wrong. Also I know you have to rev the coyote engines, but peak power at 7500? Which also happens to be listed as the max engine speed that sounds really suspect. The Vooddoo makes peak power at 7500, but can rev to 8200 max. The 5.8 made it at 6200 I think. Some of this could be true, but I there is enough to make me think some of it could be fake.

No, the GT530R weights almost as a Manual ZL1

On a Side note: I though this car will have DCT only.
I'm assuming they're going with just the 'R' due to similarity with GT350 version which has a good rep by now.

Really? I don't think this will get a DCT, probably the new 10 speed auto and a 6 speed manual.

Well, according to Ford's website, GT350R Curb weight is 3,662, according to Chevrolet's website, a ZL1 curb weight is 3,883 a difference of 221 pounds.

Well I posted a link with a 3860lb 2019 GT PP2 on a scale, not sure how fake that is?

Yeah pretty disappointing...even has a CF driveshaft but still gains SO MUCH WEIGHT. Not a real competitor to the Camaro...looks like they have the Hellcat in their sights...drag racing special.

What's most sad to me, is how beautiful the renderings are of the front end. Looks fantastic but I was NOT expecting it to be THIS HEAVY!

So... A car with an Engine that weights more than 5.0 Coyote and the LT1 and has a platform that weights more than the alpha platform... Is lighter than a Camaro 1SS and a Base Mustang GT?
