Best way to launch the A8 on stock tires

Doing digs soon on stock tires at a drag strip wondering what will be the best launch. I've heard launch control but other people say there's better ways etc. Newbie . Thanks

There’s a drag strip section for you to look at for better advice on the A8
I don’t an a8, but in my automatic 02 the best way is to bring up revs a little while holding the brakes and then let them go, floor it and watch for wheel spin.
If you get it right , great 60’ if you get it wrong, then you do a nice burnout at the starting line .

Try launch control for consistency...

There's no one right answer to this question. It depends a lot on track prep.

Personally, I like to hold the car with left foot on the brake and start a moderate throttle application (count one thousand one while gradually pressing on the accelerator) while releasing the brake gradually also , just starting a bit later. No wheel hop and just a bit of squeal on a sticky drag strip.

It's more important to work on reaction time than on making the launch more aggressive and potentially less consistent.

get the tires hot...second gear burnout until you see smoke. Stall to 1200 rpm, let off brake and press the accelerator pedal to the floor linearly.
