I suspect that anybody who choses 21's is much more interested in cruising and in satisfying their own individual appearance preference than in any sort of serious performance driving. Meaning that the performance-driving envelope of the tires needn't be as serious either. I do hope that you're not running those sizes on wheels narrower than the usual recommended minimum widths, though.
Over the years, I've had a couple of sets of tires that would have been fine for average daily driving and relaxed weekend cruising if that had been all I'd been interested in, so I understand this even though I know from experience that that sort of tire doesn't fit me very well personally. Overall, I think you'll continue to be happy with them. That said, I would never even think to shop eBay for new tires. The possibility of them being out of date or close to it is only one of the reasons. Norm

Ken, like you my hell raising days have been pretty much tamed and I too enjoy my 21" wheels. I have been following your post regarding the Lexani tires. I still have about 60% life on my Pirelli P Zeros but will not dish out that kind of money for new ones. Please keep us updated my friend.

I just compared the Pirelli P Zero tires to the Lexani LX-Twenty tires, resulted in the following;
Front Tire 1: Pirelli P Zero 245/40/21 Tire 2: Lexani LX-Twenty 255/40/21 Tire 1 diameter 28.7" Tire 2 29" (+1%) Tire 1 width 9.6" Tire 2 width 10" (+4.2%) Tire 1Sidewall 3.9" Tire 2 4" (+2.6%) Tire 1 Circum 90.2" Tire 2 91.2" (+1%) Speed tire 1 90MPH tire 2 90.9MPH Rear Tires 1: Pirelli P Zero 275/35/21 Tire 2: Lexani LX-Twenty 295/35/21 Tire 1 diameter 28.6" Tire 2 29.1" (+1.7%) Tire 1 width 10.8" Tire 2 11.6" (+7.4%) Tire 1Sidewall 3.8" Tire 2 4.1" (+7.9%) Tire 1 Circum 89.7" Tire 2 91.5" (+1.7%) Speed tire 1 90MPH tire 2 91.6MPH Without mounting and balance etc. you can purchase a set of Lexani LX-Twenty for about $580.00 shipped free, might locate locally for like rate with mounting and balance. Some places are asking nearly $500.00 for one rear Pirelli P Zero 275/35/21. Like Ken my heavy pedal days are about over with!

I have the Lexani LX 30 tires in 275/40/20 and 315/35/20 on MRR 228's... I have no complaints. I agree that they are a little stickier than the Perelli's, car feels very good during spirited driving. I have about 1500 miles on them and using my tire gauge basically no wear. For me they have been very good, quiet and smooth riding. I do not track my car so that was/is not a concern. They look nice and I am very happy with them.

Yep, I just could not justify $2000 for tires for a Sunday drive car.
The Lexani's are still functioning perfectly. |

Ken, thanks for posting that info!!! I also have 21" wheels with those Pirelli's on them. I am up to 34K miles with my Green Flash now and probably will have to get new tires within the next year or so.
I will go with the Lexani option also when the time comes. People on this forum are awesome!!!

Today I feel like I found a great deal. From a Chevrolet dealership out of WV I purchased a 21" VZN package 2 which has 21"X8 1/2" wheels all around, wrapped with the Pirelli P Zero 245/40/ZR21" tires. This set of wheels cam with tires, lugs and TPMSensors. Less than 500 miles on the package. $750.00 plus cost me $250.00 for shipping. That seems like a very fair deal to me!

I found the lexani in 315/35 and 275/40 -20 at Walmart. Lol
$478 for all 4 tires. Not the 21 inch but popular tire sizes . I wish I had knew about this brand before buying my Extreme Contacts. |

The wiki here doesn't mention the width of the OE 21's or even whether the front and rear 21's are all the same width or staggered. The width(s) of aftermarket 21's could be most anything. Norm
