I refer to anyone who buts in just because they have the power and screws things up because they have the power and think they know everything and cuts off their nose to spite their face and loves the trophy despite the whole project as an Al Davis. Jerry Jones has become the next AL Davis.

PQ, I agree with you but in davis' situation it's not a butting in thing. He was instrumental in forming the AFL and was the raiders first head coach in 1960. He was given a small percentage of ownership in 1964 and through greed and desire ended up with 80% in 2005 after yet another battle in court with the surviving family members of a part owner. In 2007 he sold an estimated 10% to pay debt's and to make tommy kelly the highest paid DT in history (at the time) Also paying gerbil wilson 36 million for three years,javon walker 55 million and terdell sands 20 million. They all were/are busts. kelly is not a starter, walker has not played a full game in 2 seasons and wilson is gone. sands is a players that maybe see's 5 play's a game.
davis runs every aspect of the team. cover 1 defense since the 60's. man coverage. The only leeway given is to offensive play calling. However personnel decisions are all made by ad. That is why there are no reputable HC's knocking on the door for a job. And when a coach tries to coach the team, he gets the kiffin treatment. An attempt at public humiliation and an attempt to deny pay. (still in court) Actually the reason Shanahan alway's got the bronco's to beat us was because when davis fired him after 8 weeks, he owed him a million dollars that he never paid. kiffin took him to court.
Like I said, I wish he would just die.
JJ is following close,but not the same path.

Yes, AD had a place in the league at one time, but that's LOOOOOOONG gone.

Funny story. Don't know if it's true or not.

A player for the Raiders was having problems performing on the feild. Al called him in to the office and asked him what the F***ing problem was. He told Al that his relationship was strained between him and his girlfreind. Al asked for a description and a picture of her. When the player asked him why he needed that, Al picked up the phone and said "I'll get you another one who looks just like her, talks just like her,.................."

His way of running a franchise, a once great franchise into the sewer is bar none the biggest black mark on the history of the NFL. At least the saints never won a title. Yet. I think if any other person owned the raiders,especially after the press conference davis held after he fired kiffin, the commisioner would have started to find a way to have his competency tested. davis is still a dangerous man. Like an injured old grizz that steals other bears kill. And demented as hell. Just die baby!

I dont know...the guy the pats are going up against used to give Brady the plays when he was at the top of his game...and the Bronco's defense has only allowed 20 something points this year...should be a good game though
