Good Evening,

New member here, but a very experienced user of car forums. I've owned several different types of cars in my years, from turbocharged Toyota Supras, all the way down Geo Metros.

I've been interested in the gen 6 Camaro for several months now, and really liked the new updates over the 5th gen. I've been in the market for a summer car for a while, and have been looking to get away from driving a manual every day. I'm getting older now, and a high school knee injury is starting to catch up with me in regards to operating a manual in city traffic. Not to mention new aged automatics are simply faster and more fuel efficient than their manual counterparts now.

I took delivery of a used 2017 Camaro 2SS on 2/22/17 after getting a flat tire replaced by the dealer that I bought it from. I bought this car from the finance manager at the dealership, who ordered the car for himself, then promptly sold it during his first winter when he realized that owning a Camaro as his only car wasn't such a bright idea, lol.

I have the window sticker in the glove box, but going off the top of my head, the car was optioned as follows:
Hyper Blue Metalic.
Pearl White stripes.
Kalahari interior leather (my only complaint on how this was built).
Automatic.
Sunroof.
NAV.
Magnetic Ride Control.
Dual Mode Exhaust.

The last two items were what I had been searching for in a Camaro. I had to expand my search to a 500 mile radius from where I live to even find one, and this was one of the only few available, and being 3 hours away from where I live, was the closest one to me.

I had even considered a 2017-ish Mustang GT, but I wanted a car that could handle corners just a well as it could handle a straight line, and that car simply didn't fit the bill for me.

I've already done a few modifications to the car, but I don't have any plans to do anything major to it. I've debadged the side emblems, modified the stock intake box, put in a high flow drop in air filter, MAXpider front and rear floor mats, and a Husky Weatherbeater trunk liner.

I've also installed a Mishimoto oil catch can, but I modified the baffling before installing. I've made my own oil catch cans for some of my other cars, including my old Supra, my Charger R/T, and my 2014 Durango R/T (still own this one), and had a feeling that the sintered brass filter plug they used in the catch can was letting by a little too much oil vapor. I tested the flow of the catch can with my highly accurate lungs, and could not detect any reduction in air flow after packing in stainless steel mesh around the inlet portion of the catch can. The sintered brass plug is the major restriction in this particular oil catch can setup. Below is a pic of what I did in case anyone else wants to emulate this idea. I basically took a stainless steel scrubber, and used about 1/3rd of it to serve as extra baffling.

Sorry for posting a novel, everyone. I look forward to contributing towards this nice forum!

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

I may very well do that. Bowling Green is only 30 minutes away.
