![]() Then apple 2e, Macintosh, Macintosh 2... I remember my first "Hard Disk Drive"... A technological marvel! The dictionary-sized box could hold 30 megs! It made just about the same noise as your fine-tuned SS-Camaro while (slowly) looking up for you files... My first PC (mid-'90s) cost me about 5000$. By today's standards, it was less useful than your average blackberry ![]() I've decided to build my own computers a few years after and haven't regretted it. I have the same "box" for 5 years now, just upgrading the components. The only thing that I might consider buying as a whole is one of the nifty mini-pcs to carry around. Phil |

Now my first really do things with compupter was the basic Intel 133mmx
and member that first xmas when I got 64 megs of EDO ram to boost it up. I still got that computer and it works, I keep it around as a back up. Still got my famous celrons 300a chip, as at the time a chip that could over clock an extra 150MHZ and be fine was a dream. Everyone got 450 out of them, many went much farther. Dug the info up on my Tandy for a larf Tandy 200 ![]() Year : 1985 (?) Country : U.S.A. CPU : Intel 80c85 Speed : 2.4 MHz ROM : 72 Kb RAM : 24 Kb (extensible to 72 Kb) Text mode : 40 x 16 Graphic mode : 240 x 128 Colors : monochrom Sound : none I/O Ports : Centronics, Tape, Bar Code Storage devices : none The Tandy 200 has batteries which provide it 16 hours autonomy. A lot of utilities are in ROM : a communication software (telcom) which used the built-in modem, a spreadsheet (light version of Multiplan), word processing, calendar, address book and basic. A 3.5' floppy disk drive (100 Kb) can be connected via the RS232. A video interface is available, it provides a video display (80 columns and 24 lines). The main competitor of the Tandy 200 was the Epson PX 8. Notice that several of the utilities in ROM were written by Bill Gates himself ! Ubar Geeks still have the highly fanshionable bag.

X2....and I even played PONG on a cassette tape player connected to a TV. It was the development steps to the Commodore 64 and my dad's friend had one that I tinkered with FUGGIN YEARS AGO!

Abacus. Then, a VIC-20 to use for electronics math. I had to write my own programs for it and save to cassette. Things have changed a bit since then.

mine was a TI that you hooked up to your tv & then hand typed all the codes for games, NO Tape player or anything to save them on lol.
Would sit down on that thing for hours typing things out & then play the game for about 6hrs. lol |

When i was 5 I think, we got an HP Pavilion 75MHz machine, followed by a 600Mhz HP desktop in 7th grade (looong wait), a Dell Inspiron 14" for college, but now that Apple is paying the bills my primary is a 15" MacBook Pro - love it! But i did boot up my 75MHz machine to play some wicked SkiFree! Oh windows 95... not quite snow leopard boot times. Hahaha
