That front end needs some work, side/rear looks ok. But the front makes it look like a Chevy Corolla.....

It is as much like the Tauras as the Camaro is a Mustang. Same class and basic shape but that's about it. When you see the Impala in person the details will stand out more than in the pictures.

To me, the grill and headlamps are more VW than Taurus. And in either case, the Impala is really a pretty sharp car up close.

I like how a bunch of people driving square brick designed cars argue about fluid designed cars being the same.

Absolutely. I was getting so bored with cars, I had no intention of buying one until my Civic wore out (which was a couple hundred K away when I traded it). Then... the Gen5 Camaro came out and I knew I would own one - it just took until retirement to do it since I needed my Civic for cheap travel.

Generally, the customers don't demand anything special from the auto makers, so they don't get it. Just like with our political leaders... we settle.

LaCrosse has one long, continuous, flowing character line known as the sweepspear, a signature Buick design cue.

Impala has two character lines, both deeply cut into the side panels, with the rear one sharply sloping downwards to create a visual connection with the chrome door trim.

Overall, Impala is a much more sculpted design, while LaCrosse has a more fluidic, smooth design.

LaCrosse is on LWB Epsilon II. Impala is on an even bigger Epsilon II platform that also underpins the Cadillac XTS.

LaCrosse is built at Fairfax Assembly in Kansas. Impala is built at Oshawa Assembly and Detroit Hamtramck Assembly.

Care to try that again?
Now that I see the two cars together, you are right. I was not trying to argue with you, I was only stating a personal opinion. I come on this site to learn things that I don't know and you know your GM cars well, but there was no reason to be salty about it. Thanks for the lesson.

I think Fen misinterpreted your words for arguing. He wouldn't intentionally get angry with someone for no reason

It has THE worst looking steering wheel I have ever seen
<sarc>I wonder how they get away with having that "too distracting" lighting on the dashboard. </sarc>

Other than that, the dash is nice looking with the exception of the odd looking swooshy detail rolling across the top. I personally don't feel that great about that one styling bit. The rest looks pretty well done.

I actually really like the new one... minus the steering wheel.
