The SVT would be killer to in that car. AWD + 300+ hp =

AWD will be unlikely, 300hp is a given.
Autocar report that the next RS will be a Hybrid AWD
300bhp with 2 electric motors running the rear wheels.

Euro RS will be a direct translation into a Euro/US ST Focus. Why they can't use GT like the Mustang and build something akin to the SS 'brand'..

Remember that GM is also selling the Cruze RS in Europe so imagine the rights battle that might pop up there over 'RS'.

It's not like GTO.. which I still don't get.
The RS badge has been one many cars over the years. Porsche was the first to use it as far as I know. Ford has used it many times in Europe, as has Audi, Aston Martin, Mitsubishi, and Renault to name a few.

And GTO is Italian in origin; Gran Turismo Omologato.

I suggested they did. They tested it, and said it was no better than the Edge comfort, visibility wise, etc. I, unfortunately, agreed. It seems that interiors are cheapening as far as material use. Less cush, more 'posh'. I told them just to get a used DTS/GM/Towncar and be done with it; they declined saying they didn't want a car.

I know.

Already told 'em too that they're NOT getting the keys to the T/A nor bumming a ride to work from me.

What about a Suburban or Tahoe? Those are really nice vehicles and there are a ton of them used and new to choose from...or what about the Traverse? those must be coming down in price. And also I'm sure you could find a Enclave for a reasonable price

A few tidbits.

This is not the current Euro Focus and there is no next gen Euro Focus, or NA Focus, etc. The next gen Focus is well and truly a global Ford product with the program itself having being based in Dearborn for various reasons.

This is the next gen Focus ST, although the finished product may be somewhat different (or quite a bit different for that matter) since things can and usually do change at this stage. That said, it is important to remember that this is not a concept, Ford recently stated outright that they wont be doing concept cars anymore as they do not feel they are worth the cost and effort. This is effectively where the next gen Focus ST program currently stands in terms of development, which means we are effectively looking at a snapshot of the developmental process, the logic almost certainly being that Ford can get consumer input on what people do and don't like thus far.

RS cannot be copyrighted, it's a generic term like GT or coupe and, as such, anybody can use it.

The nose on this particular car is terrible with the unit used on the standard Focus looking a hundred times better IMO. I sincerely hope they rethink this styling element.

Why does it say ST in the grill? Explain.

Also looks are subjective not fact. I like the looks for a tin can type car.

Type, I meant to say next gen ST...thanks for catching that.

Looks are subjective, by and large I don't think this particular look would be very well received.

Thanks for clearing that up.

On the looks, you may be correct. I usually like cars that are different and don't blend into the norm.

Bleh... I'm not liking this to much. The engine is pretty nice (it puts out 25% more hp than my '98 V6 at 66% of the engine!), but I'm not liking the styling of the exterior. The interior isn't bad though. I like the sharp design they were going for.
Is this specifically a hatchback, or are we going to see coupes and sedans as well?
