I had a Trans-Am that was a 5-speed manual, and a friend of mine had a Fiero equiped with a 4-speed manual!

So I think "6-speed" will be around for a while still..

You have to understand that these statements are not only habitual but, sometimes generational. Someone mentioned 3 on the tree. That is how I learned to drive a stick (manual). No one ever mentioned manual, it was usually I have a 4-speed. Please don't ask me about vent windows or the crank handles on the door.

anyone know why infiniti charges more for a 6spd manual than the 7spd auto in the G37.

i thought manuals were always cheaper, being the standard.
