Exactly stretch that to a longer track such as the Nurburgring and you're talking over 12 second difference. A second per mile is huge in terms of a gap generated.

They tested a 12' to a 15' and the 12' did 12.9@110 and the 15' 13.1@109. I think it really shows whats the real story. Welcome to the IRS world, Ford. The car is still new and lets wait for some for real world data at local tracks around the country..

Never been on a road course, maybe I was downplaying this as much as I could.
Imo, Ford bottled it in this first model year. I'll be surprised if a GT350 can outrun the Z/28. 50 years is HUGE, this car is virtually the same size as the last model, but slightly heavier due to an IRS. Now that the performance numbers are in I just feel slightly cheated. It lost some originality with that front end. Mind you this is a first model year against a 15' Camaro, but imo this car should have made a big impact. Seriously, how is the all new Mustang still getting beat by the last generation Camaro? As a car guy I'm just a little let down (styling, size, weight gain, performance). Someone putting together the Camaro6 has got to be laughing their butt off and Mustang engineers out to be shaking their heads.... 911 and M4 as the benchmark has never sounded so ridiculous. Camaro6 should be a killer. |

I have to extend a virtual handshake to bobdigi, man enough to give credit where credit is due even if it goes against his preferred brand.

So it took 50+years for IRS to show up on the Camaro??? Nice. Like I said, Mustang has been there, done that..way before the Camaro did.
