The 3 specialty tuner versions look cool! Hennessey version is a beast for 59K!

Saleen's

Hennessey's
(HPE700 version; 0-60 @ 3.6 secs and 1/4 in 11.2 secs @ 131)

Not a big fan of the Saleen version. The front view just kills it based on the renderings I've seen so far.

Not impressed. So an all new platform, updated motor and suspension, higher price tag, yet the 11-14 models are still as fast or faster. This thing is going to get destroyed by the Challenger R/T Scat Pack automatic at the strip. What happened to the claim of the Boss being the benchmark, the Boss ran 12:40s stock.

newmoon, while I agree the Boss should have been the benchmark to beat in all performance categories; the only category they said the new Mustang GT w/ PP would beat the Boss 302 LS is around the track.

Exactly...but its easier to knit pick at the obvious and point out that it's slower than a lighter more powerful car.

I think everyone would have loved to see a low 11 second car off the showroom floor, but it's just the first year of the redesign without a big power upgrade.

Reminds me of something an automaker did with their sports/pony car in 2010...

A good et but I thought bit would mph a little higher. Guess that's just the added weight showing its true colors. Stall,DR's,tune and exhaust should dip into the 11's.

Agree with your sentiment but the handling, balance, feel of the car has improved dramatically over the S197. It is a better car top to bottom even if not faster in a straight-line currently. The Boss had more power and weighed less which made it a straight-line winner. On a track, I will reserve comment until we see a same day track comparison of GT track pack vs Boss, vs 1LE.

The 107-mph should be the focus. Running 12:80s with that mph you know the car was driven hard. Had the 12:80s come with a 110+mph pass you could say there is more in it. In my prior 12-GT I don't think I ever trapped lower than 109-mph on any clean pass. This new Mustang is no faster than the now 4-yro Camaro.

The front end of the Roush reminds me of the new Subaru STI

Car and Driver trapped the 15 GT/PP with manual at 113mph. Motortrend 112mph. They either have a lemon or weren't driving it very hard, also maybe bad gas or the automatic transmission is tuned horribly.

i'm an STi fan, and have no idea what you see. Other than both front ends having headlights, grills, and hood scoop, they look nothing alike.

I was about to bring this up but i figured we were all aware of them before assuming 107 was the "end all" run.

Another point is that this may have had not enough brake in time. Have any other auto GT's been timed?

There is some 109mph pass in other testing. I'm sure this new Mustang is a HAIR slower than the last ones. But the revised engine will have some tweaks in the future and it will be faster..just when GM will announce his 6th gen and hp numbers.

Um, not really. In fact very few stock SS's ever break into the 12's without a few mods.
