Their forum has a weird issue with adding multiple blank pages. I've lurked over there for a while to read thePill's nonsense and it's always been like that.

He always bitches about the Z/28 having a 2.0 liter advantage but ignores the BOSS has 4 times the cams and twice the valves. How convenient of him.

Ford does this with every first run of even new car they release. I'm sure it will get better. I don't understand their thinking in doing this, but they do. Remember the 05 GT only had 300 hp. I do however believe that this car is going to be a dude where it counts. Sales. The 05 was a huge hit.

yes your right, Ford always holds back for some weird reason. I guess they dont want to spend the money unless Chevrolet forces them too and I remember when the 2005 Mustang's hit the streets it was a huge hit!

S.O.P. for many. As the model "matures" (read: ages), a little sumthin-sumthin needs to be added. New powertrain upgrades, new option packages/models, new colors/trims. To keep the sales wheels greased, a little added "spice" is preferred over REBATES...

The '05 had how many competitors?

The tale of the SALES tape will be evident by MY '17. The first year of the new Mustang should be robust. As will the first year of the Camaro. By '17, the real head-to-head will happen, and who has read their tea leaves BEST will become evident...

However, if U.S. MY '15 sales of Mustang don't beat the now-fully-matured Camaro, oh-oh...

Ford doesn't really have any reason to drastically improve the '15 Mustang's speed over the '14. Lots of people will buy the car just for the new looks and the handling. The current setup is already quicker than the Camaro (albeit by just a hair), so Ford has little reason to spend money upping the power until the 6th gen Camaro shows up.

Ford did the same thing last time. They released a new body style, the Camaro came, and shortly after Ford put the 5.0 in the Mustang. It's the same plan of attack all over again.

It sounds like this car was a big step up in quality and composure with the addition of IRS but they weren't focused on making it faster in a straight line. The power bump was the counter the weight increase and the engine mods were to bump the torque throughout the range.

I'm all for making a more refined and composed car but not at the cost of what makes the car a pony/muscle car.

I read that there were engineering issues with the 5.0 that delayed the release until the 2011 model year. They didn't specifically hold back on the Coyote.

Well everyone remember when those came out because that was the year that started all of this retro stuff and nobody else was doing it! That was the real reason why the O5's was a hit!

That's interesting, I hadn't heard that. What Ford ended up doing makes good business sense though.

I think I read it was 2 mpg better in the city and one better on the highway than the 14's V6, and the V6 loses one MPG for both and loses 5 HP from the 14's V6. I bet they detuned the V6 to get more people to pay the extra cost of the 4.
