I'm sorry you don't understand and like to resort to petty insults for no apparent reason. Good luck with that.

I FULLY understand how inane that remark was/is.

Top Fuel dragsters require a 1000 hp to spin their blower. That DOESN'T mean they'd make an extra 1000 hp without the belt.

They'd make 1000s LESS than their estimated 8500, wouldn't they? In fact, as built, they wouldn't run at all.

So for some SRT "engineer" to make that statement, and for YOU to swallow AND repeat it, is, well, pretty sad, sadly.

Insult? No. FACT.

"Gee, if the car didn't have a transmission-driveshaft-differential-two wheels/tires, the sum bitch'd make 700+ RWHP, by golly!! 'Course she's hard to confirm without them-there dad-gum rear tars!"

Now go back to your SRT "engineer" an tell 'im what you learned here. He oughta be IMPRESSED!

Then you're not understanding the comment. Without the blower, the 6.2 would probably only make 440ish HP - but to produce 707 net crank hp with an 80hp parasitic loss, the engine must produce 787hp plus what it takes to drive the other accessories... same as any engine. That was the comment. How did you extract from that the notion that removing the supercharger from the system entirely would result in increased performance? It's utterly laughable to even assume someone would believe that.

Then again, there was that one guy that drew up designs for an engine that fed the exhaust straight into the intake...

Remember when automakers started rating their engines with all production accessories installed instead of just the bare minimums around 1970? and advertised hp numbers fell but performance held fast?

Are you being obtuse on purpose, or does it come naturally?

Ok I read them all. I did not see one post where some one claimed to be faster in a stock ZL-1 than a Hell Cat. Please give me the post number you are referring to.

What happened "crawdad Joe"? So not posting a response must mean you're a believer of the HC being the front runner in the 1320' and that Dodge's claimed times aren't so outlandish...

I have to say though, of all the car forums I've visited on this subject (and with some notable exceptions), this forum has had the most reasonable, realistic discussion about the Hellcat. True car guys here. The Ford guys have a much higher proportion of whiny, delusional brats.

And the Mopar guys are just happy to finally have a contender!

I'll need to see your "Evelyn Wood's Speed Reading" diploma, first.

For some reason, you just signed up today. So you could arrive in this thread and add WHAT to this discussion, of a positive nature? I thought so. TRAN spared no expense to buy THE most so-fist-E-cated software just to track new members with nefarious intent. I'm not saying you're in the cross-hairs, BUT...

You again? Ordered your new Checker Cab, yet?

"For one BRIEF shining moment" is all I can say. And stay away from GT500s with your 6-Speed HCs.

Have you sent the $200 yet? I'm waiting.

I appreciate the chance to have a rational discussion with the guys and gals on this forum. Some of the stuff I have read here needs to be replied to as it is nothing but mis information. As I said before treat me with respect and I will show the same respect for you. I expect we will not see things the same most of the time.

This, as a Mopar guy at hart, we've had nothing but "close but no cigar" since 2009.

Let us have ten minutes of glory until GM and Ford spanks us again.

Where were youse guys for the last 3 years? MIA.
So you don't have a post you can show us. Most of the post were very short and would not require a speed reader to get it done in a short amount of time. I can give you a few days if you need them to come up with the post you are referring to. No shame in being slow.

You can't blame anyone here for misinformation, so many articles are getting details wrong, like thinking the black key is the valet mode, that only 1200 will be produced, etc.

Apparently, Mopar Maniacs are people of few words. As one, I also figured you moved your lips while reading. That takes a lot of extra time.

No shame in being slow.
You signed up to share that pearl? You need to get out more often. SLOW is what Mopar Maniacs have been used to, for some time now. And, for a car that isn't in the hands of any paid-my-money customers, the fastest thing ya got, right now, is your two-finger typing.

So your mission, here (if you choose to accept it), is to get us to admit that the reported 1/4-mile times for an AUTOMATIC HC are much quicker than the usual times for a ZL1? THAT'S your mission?

In the immortal words of everyone's favorite president, Dubya, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. And I never shed a single tear.

To get the same quote for the 6-Speed would actually require one to have a reported time. Which it DOESN'T. And there are many out there. right now in the hands of those always-objective auto-scribes. And STILL no times. What's with THAT?!

Bring it to a slalom, or a road-course. Then we'll look forward to your admission in return. Fair?

Remember, they're watching.

I got all of my info here, and I knew that both were wrong. You have to know what info to believe which is true no matter where you get the info.
