You're car is not legal anywhere, not just Cali. You can get a ticket for no cats anywhere. In Cali, if the officer looks under your hood or under your car and sees obvious violations (like aftermarket parts with no CARB # or no cats) he can have your car towed on the spot and the best thing is, even if he is wrong, you still get to pay impound and towing fees if the charges are dropped. Biggest scam ever to make money. He cut you a huge break. Also, I been in the modified car game for a while, and if you are not running cats, you can smell it. If you're running a turbo, no cats, and no mufflers, you're car is too damn loud, I guarantee you that...hell even in Texas where I'm from, no one gives a shit, but no front plate will get you a ticket quick there...

he asked who did the work in a tone as if he wanted go and investigate them, not in a cool car where was it done way. trust me, he does NOT like my car. my car does have a CARB sticker, aside from the cats I am good as far as parts go - I know that's a big part of it though...I will get some mufflers and get them installed and try to take my bike to the gym for awhile. I don't want to complain about him, i know that could create issues for me. and i do appreciate what officers do, but this guy isn't one of them... this is a guy who sits there waiting on a car to leave to hassle a guy meanwhile there are plenty of much worse things going on he could be dealing with. i mentioned whats happened to 3 officer buddies, one of which is in this PD, all 3 said its a d!ck move to be doing what hes done.

I once got a ticket for going 4 mph over the limit (in a 65 zone).

Do I believe that I deserved to pay the ridiculous fine on the ticket? Hell no.

Did the cop have the right to pull me over and hand me the ticket? Hell yes. I broke the law.

Sadly there is no way you are going to come out ahead on this. Maybe he got run over by a red Camaro as kid or his wife is cheating on him with someone driving a loud car, who knows. Fact is he is zeroed in on you and it's not the kind of attention you need so as you said get the noise down and try and stay out of his radar for a while. Like you noted that there is little you can do if he is being a PIA.

cut outs don't quite work (at least as i have seen) with my turbo routing. btw i mentioned him to 2 buddies at the gym, both knew EXACTLY who he was. apparently he is the type of officer that walks around the parking lot radioing in plates to tags etc. he ticketed one buddy even though his were in the mail. the other friend said he was sitting in his car in the lot when the officer came up asking (in the same tone he gives me) what are you doing here, where are you coming from, where are you going, is this car yours etc...he was like i am leaving the gym, these are my keys...soooooo that's the type of guy he is
