Somebody go look at the C6 line up. I'll wait...

You do realize what we have just been given in the C7 is the base Coupe and a Z51 suspension option. Still to come...

Convertible
Grand Sport
ZO6
ZR1

There is a bunch of C7 Stingray coming down the pipe.

I think the Z51 might be the GS this generation.

Possible but the GS is so much more than the Z51 was in the C6. They sold like hell too.

The new Corvette is the best deal in performance. I haven't had a chance to drive one, but if the interior looks, feels, sounds, and performs like the higher priced European imports, it just may win over a few logo snobs.

The G meter and performance numbers won't lie. Who cares how wide the tire is... Remember this is a base Corvette....and will absolutely smoke a stock 2SS regardless of how wide the tires are...

There was a Z51 option package on the C6. It was discontinued partway through the run, replaced by the GrandSport sub-model

In regards to the performance bargain of the decade comment, what did a zero option z06 start at in its first year of production for the C6? (Was that back in '06?)

2006 was the first model year, introduced in late 2005. It MSRP'd for $66,000. But inflation over the last few years would put it at about $79,000
