Would be nice to see a return of Trans Am...especially if they stick to true production vehicles. Nascar is boring...need to allow teams to do whatever they want. You want 1000 hp...fine gotta make it to the end

The problem with Nascar is there's nothing going on at the track that even remotely looks like anything that you can do on the street; including the appearance of the cars. A Trans Am series would be with production cars that people can buy and drive on the street. With the exception of all the sponsor stickers and some safety items, the track cars will be (and look) virtually the same as the street cars. This has a great amount of appeal for fans who like to associate with their favorite team/driver, much like someone who wants to wear a Kobe Bryant jersey even though they obviously aren't a pro basketball player or a member of the Lakers. It's also great for the manufacturers because they can put the street versions in show rooms and advertise the heck out of their racing involvement. Fans like that sort of thing so it's good for sales. And now that so many tracks offer HPDE events fans can get out on the track and actually experience driving their car like the pros. It would be great for the fans, great for the manufacturers, and great for motorsports in general.
