My wife doesnt get the whole "muscle car" thing either. Also doesnt like speed or the "being slammed into the seat by raw hp" feeling. So, when I want to drive like that I leave her at home. When I want to go on Sunday drive, she tags along...WHILE I DRIVE THE SPEED LIMIT AND ACCELERATE VERY SLOWLY....needless to say.....she syas at home alot.

How are you driving that the stick is too jerky? Are you redlining and banging the gears all day?

Maybe you're missing something. Sometimes women see traveling together as a chance to communicate since its just you and her in the car. And maybe she enjoys spending time with you in your Camaro. Now if you've got the music up and you're carving through the corners and slicing through the gears the whole time she's trying to bond with you, then it will come of as insensitive, inconsiderate, and arrogant. I'm not saying that's what you're doing but it might seem that way to her, and perception is image.

Simple fix to the problem...when she is with you in the car, just slow shift at 2,000 rpms and hold the clutch out a tad. This will show her that you have self control and that you care about her feelings. She is your girlfriend after all. And with the advantages of having a girlfriend I'd say a little self-restraint is not as bad as hugging a pillow all night. And considering how comfortable these cars are, she might just enjoy a nice cruise if you take it easy. When she isn't in the car, then have at it. And then you'll both be happy.

And BTW, as far as taking girl advice from women...actually, never take advice girl advice from guys. Because the same guy giving you bad advice just might be parked outside her house when you dump her (or she dumps you). And especially don't ask guys on a Camaro site for advice on your gf...sheesh.
