Wow, rarley make it over to OT and this caught my eye. My desire to lose weight hit me when my wife said my face was too big for my haircut (marine-type haircut). I was at 210 lbs and I'm 5'6. After about a year this March I've lost 40 lb's. I'm from South Texas, so it was hard to give up my morning tacos! Especially flour torillas, sweat bread and those pure sugar Mexican cokes. Giving all that stuff up, eating right, taking supps and working out really do make difference! Right now I'm loving it. If I miss a day I hate myself. It's very addicting once you see results. It makes you want to keep going and going. And my face matches my haircut now, so that's a bonus. I'll post a before and after pic soon!

Hi Speedy, glad to see you're still with us. Quick question, have you thought about swapping a couple of meals so that you keep your carb intake earlier in the day, for example the turkey chilli.

Good job on the 40lbs! And welcome from a fellow Texan. Luckily I have never been a real soda fan, I have one coke zero first thing in the morning but I haven't given up my breakfast tacos I just make them a bit healtheir. Wheat tortillas, egg whites, veggies, and ground turkey with a TINY sprinkle of cheese and some salsa.

As for me and my accountibility.
Friday - Bonnie treadmill HIIT with the alternating lunges/sprints/squats/sprints followed by supersets.
Saturday - Hiking
Sunday - Insanity Plyo
Monday - P90X Core Synergetics
Tuesday - Treadmill HIIT with supersets

Tuesday I made a bad mistake though. I have hyperglycemia, not bad but enough that it will give me shakes, nausea, headaches, dizziness, ect. Well I usually workout after dinner and yesterday I worked out before dinner and oh man did I regret it. Couldn't eat dinner, headache, spent time worshiping the porcelian god, dizzy, couldn't hold anything i was shaking. So note to self, if I workout before dinner eat a snack ASAP.

What time do you eat dinner? How long do you wait to eat after you workout ? I eat a an apple or banana about an hour before I workout at 5:30 PM. I rely on protien shakes right after I workout, and a light dinner about an hour after that. So far so good. I can relate on the hyperglycemia. I did my wife's crossfit routine without a snack and I was laughing at the carpet right after. Never missed a snack before a workout since.

Well I usually workout after dinner but I met my friend for a workout yesterday and then she was like oh I'll cook dinner and so that took awhile and I didnt snack after my workout, just didnt think about it got to talking.

Just wont make that mistake again. I have been so good for so many years about keeping my sugar in check and yesterday we were just having so much fun it slipped my mind.

You know its a REALLY great feeling when you can really plant the seed and motivate someone. My girlfriend I've been working out with was my size when we met and she had a lot of health problems and gained alot. She bought tread mill and weights and i've been passing her workouts and doing them with her and texting her to see how its going and she does great with the exercise but her diet is BAD (she knows how to eat and cook healthy because she has been thin her whole life) and she came out yesterday and said you know you come workout with me and I really work hard when youre here and I work out during the week but I just can't stop eating food, I dont eat for comfort I eat for taste and that her husband has bad eating habits and he is to kind to be like babe you shouldnt eat that or are you going to hit the gym today. So I kinda just said girl its not easy I eat my meals and watch everyone go back for seconds or eat something less healthy and I'm SO JEALOUS sometimes. But you just have to remember its a temporary want and you have to remember your long term goal. I also said she is going to have to sit her family and her fiance down and be like ya'll are effecting my health and I need your support to get back on track.

She messaged me today, she sat her hubby down and told him how much her health meant to her and how much she needed him to support her and she ordered P90X and she is starting a blog to hold herself accountable. Very very proud of her. And feeling quite like a boss for helping her.
