And the match ups this weekend did show exactly where the OU football program is at compared to the other teams in the nation...which is right in the middle NOT the top.

Another reason the BCS should have a playoff mode instead of bowl games...

Uhhhh.......WVU put up 533 yards of offense! How is LSU mostly defense? If you watched that game, LSU won it by special teams and opportunism, including 4 turnovers, 2 of which were caused by stupidity on the offensive side. LSU is an awesome team for sure, but giving up 533 yards is not mostly defense in my book. Their punter is amazing BTW! Wow!

Well I finally made it back from the Big Pig Bar B Q....OK Just kidding...

Alabama did win and I guess I must be the only Alabama fan still worried about our team. Ineffectiveness at 1st and 6's in my eyes is NOT good. Wilson is a 1st year starter so big whoop.

Alabama has a tough test this weekend against Florida and if we get by this then the next big game will be LSU on November 5. We played a pretty good game in all aspects but have ALOT to improve on before the track meet in Gainsville.......plus Fl has ALOT better Defense.

I am glad that LSU is #1 and OU is #2 and we are #3....it will all work out in the end.

To me these rankings are a joke. They need to wait till Oct 1 before they rank teams because most will have played some conference games and maybe a good non-conference game......LSU jumping OU...I don't see it......OU struggled a LITTLE with FSU but made plays when needed. LSU gave up a ton of yards against WV...the inexperience at QB hurt WV and the pityful special teams play on the kick off return.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see many games since I was at Bryant -Denny Saturday and mainly saw scores...One thing for sure is that the picture is getting clearer...win and you are in.

What do you mean change direction? I never claimed OU had the best ANYTHING. They can play offense with anyone. Their defense is still an unknown but has played well when needed. LSU gave up 500+ yards and 21 points to WV who is not that great. I'm as objective as they come. And Missouri is a tough conference game. The BIG 12 is competitive. It's why we don't have an undefeated team every year.

You don't make any sense at all. You claim you hate the 'Money Thang' yet you want a playoff...... WTF...... Pick one. You can't have both. A playoff would be big money for the big teams and leave the smaller teams out.

And the NFL was superior LONG before the players union screwed it all up. It's competitive all the time............. which college football isn't.

Absolutely right. Clemson is a good team right now. Back to back wins against Auburn and FSU.

LSU is getting tons of credit for that game and rightfully so. BUT, special teams and defensive cheap points won't always be there.

This is my worry for Alabama, they have not had a dominate offensive game all year long. We got 21 points off a punt return, INT return and whatever that 4th down fake field goal play was.......but a consistent ability to drive the field has not been there so far. Everyone says defense wins championships but you do have to have offensive production....

Everyone touted Ark as a great offensive team...sure when they play lesser schools...I think this week they play A&M....so we will see if they were a fluke this week or if they just had a bad game....If they struggle this week then it just shows they are not that strong.

No matter what teams plays on Jan 9th, they all will have a little luck along the way and the ball will bounce their way a few times during the year.
