Get the V6 FWD 2LT.

I got the 4 cyl for mpgs, and kick myself for not getting the 6 cyl. I thought I would enjoy the mpgs more, but the annoying 6t45 trans makes the little 4 cyl drone like crazy at some speeds. I would now gladly trade some mpgs for a smoother drive train. Although I've heard some complain about the trans with the V6 too. Why they can't program these new 6 speed FWD transmissions better is a mystery.

I don't get the appeal to the ambient lighting in that SRX, you have to turn up the dash/NAV so bright to see it - now the dash and NAV are annoyingly bright. Why - so you can see a little strip of light? I just don't get it. Day one of owning my Camaro I dimmed the dash lights and haven't seen the ABL since. It looked interesting in the concept pictures. But I've found it useless in actual driving.

I too am looking for my first SUV. Looked at the Equinox at the SF Auto Show last November and didn't like it. Thick A-pillars, overwrought dash, heavy looking design, hard to see out, lots of wasted space in the engineering. About 600lbs heavier than it should be.
I walked over to Subaru and liked what I saw in the Forester and Outback. Will buy one this Summer.

Love my Terrain. Don't panic on mileage at first if you go 4 cylinder...yes I went from a modded SS to a Terrain but such is life. I love the new ride.

I have a 2011 2LT FWD V6 on order for my wife. I can't wait to get it. It's a great CUV.
