What about Ball Tag with a racquetball and the dreaded firing squad?
king of the mountain.

heck when was the last time you saw some kids playing tackle football in a field?????

We were running around in the front yard and my wife was spraying the kids with the hose .. and "accidentally" me at times... and I knocked my daughter into my son and the both fell down in some dirt... I saw one of our less friendly neighbors shake her head as she walked by....

She's the one I don't spank my kids in front of.... You just never know...

I just refuse to raise a kid that can't deal with a little dirt in the mouth..

GTAHVIT... you gotta watch this! Reminded me of myself when the wife was stupid enough to leave the kids with me for even a few minutes

Now THAT is a childhood.

Would anyone else get the business end of a belt (or whatever was around) for even thinking about calling your parents by their first name?

I have read this entire thread. I cant agree more. This entire country has this mentality, something for nothing. Kids get whatever they want and dont "work" for anything. This really started to hit home when my daughter,6, was born and we would go play. Rewards for everyone, no spankings, etc, etc, etc. Not going to repeat everything listed previously. One reason I got out of Marines in 99, was because I got tired of being a dad and babysitter!!! Oh Sgt I dont feel like doing that today, what......!!! You couldnt take care of things the way they needed to be. Anyway, now I am seeing it in every martial arts class I have been to. Kids and adults not wanting to do things, cant break a board, well then you dont get belt!! that simple.

My daughter is not and will not be in this catagory. She runs and falls down, she gets up and keeps going!! We have to take into our hands as parents and fix or kids generation so they can retake this country from the MEDICATED KIDS. Hopefully we as a nation can hold out until then.

For the record, mom had stock in the wooden spoon manufacture, and had a holster for that bad boy. No matter where we were, she would whip one out of nowhere and get busy on my ass!!!! We laugh about it now, but it helped.

I am guessing that most here are in their mid to late 30's. Glad to see that I am not the only one seeing this happen to our kids and nation.

Take care and maybe, just maybe we can make America strong and feared around the world again.:pad dle::f ighting0030::fighting0 030:

There is no way I would have gotten away with using my parent's first names. I would have received a for sure.

Some things have changed for the best, but every kid needs a war wound from his childhood. That youtube link talking about dirt clod fights with the occasional tard chucking a rock... I still have that scar after 45 years!

Not everyone wears all that crap.

Anyone remember METAL slides that got so freaking hot, you burned your butt sliding down and then you put sand on it because " it made you go faster and cooled off the slide?" AHHHH!!!
Metal slides? As in metal spikes? In softball they still have those. I got cleated in the crotch while playing catcher.

I know all the safety stuff, but we turned out ok...right?

Question :

What was OK for us growing up, but now is viewed as if you kicked a puppy?

(accidentally of course)

In plus, Its our parents that makes us wear that stuff. SOO why do you guys make us wear that??
