GM was the largest auto maker for, basically, 100 years... lets see how long Toyota's reign lasts

I don't care about that right now I rather have a leaner, meaner, greater more profitable GM than the biggest watered down version thats struggling to survive

Now let's subtract recalls and see what the difference is. With that Camry recall they had last year subtracted, the numbers almost match, so it might be safe to say that GM made more cars that work than Toyota.

They're still #1 in the US...and they'll be the world leader again within years.
Not to mention their vehicles are already better than Toyotas. I agree with ArcAngel, but frankly, they better enjoy it while it lasts. Lousy company.... |

No big deal. There is entropy at the top. Get big, get ambitious, get cocky, and you fall. We're seeing it already where they're coasting on reputation alone and quality and reliability are slipping fast. Enjoy the title Toyota. It put GM in a world of hurt while they had it and I'm sure we'll all enjoy a smaller, more beautiful GM.

Previous Toyotas include 2 Tacoma 4x4 TRD V6s and a 1991 4x4 PU. All of which were reliable beyond belief. I'm not wanting to start an import vs. support the US debate, just curious why you think Toyota is a lousy company? |

![]() As for the 'lousy company' comment...Toyota, to me, symbolizes everything that's wrong with our market and society. And they're the flag-bearer for the import invasion that's taken place in North American the past 3 decades. Although those reasons are meaningless on the world stage, I still despise them throroughly. Quote:

Yeah your Toyota is a 2002 model. Try something built after 05. The later the model, the more you can see the steady quality slide. I worked at a Toyota dealer in 07, during the Summer of Endless Recalls.

Like I've always said, it's better to be #2 and build quality products than #1 and build useless crap.

Toyota was already having problems before 2005.
