They all live here as happy as a clam, no fighting! The truck wants to know why it sleeps outside, but thats the way it is!
My HD sleeps outside until I get a taller garage door.

I love the Corvette.
Late 60's, 70's, didnt like any of the 80's or 90's...
The newer ones? Oh, very nice.
It was actually an option to buy one before we bought the Camaro, but the Vette is only a 2 seater. Wouldnt work well for my 2 kids. And if I speed taped them to the sides or to the hood, it would just ruin the aerodynamics of the car.

Not sure if I've ever seen any Vette hate here.

I can say without a doubt that if I didn't need the other 2 seats for my kids, I'd be driving a Z06 right now.

Once the kids are outta the house, the Camaro will be replaced with a Vette!

I'm not really seeing 'Vette hate here, maybe a few negative comments. After all, this is a public forum, and you're going to have any and all kinds of replies, not all warm and fuzzy.
Ever since the C6 came out, I've considered it my holy grail. That has been downplayed pretty much when I got my Camaro, as I love it. I would still like to own both someday.
Our 5th gen Camaro club has a few members with both, and we also welcome 'Vettes along on our cruises. It's Chevy, it's all good.

Corvettes

Had tons of them thru the years. Driver is a 1974 Stingray convertible L82 with a 4 speed. She has 64k original miles. Not bad for a 37 yr. old vette. Other is my 15 yr old 1996 Grand Sport. All original including tires. Looking for a deal on a newer Callaway. Never mind the pic of the 99 30th anniversary T/A convertible.. I wouldn 't want it to taint this thread. I should have registered as GearHead.. I love Chevy's , Fords, Dodges.. about everything..

Revamped to compete with the SS? Sometimes I wonder if you guys are actually being serious.

Since the GT500 was apparently revamped to compete with the SS I would say that they overshot the Hades out of that target. That is about as close as it gets, and that against the Grand Sport.

As for Corvette hate. I think what you are really seeing is more of a jaded attitude than hate. The Corvette concept is and always has been interesting, and on paper everything looks great. However, the front suspension design has long contributed to sub-par steering feel and the interior has long been amazingly sub-par as well. In fact, even the 'upgraded' interior is pretty bad.

I was looking at a new 'toy' the other day and, as usual, the one style of Corvette I was willing to consider...the Grand Sport...was ruled out almost immediately because literally everything else had a much better interior. (if the interior hadn't done it build quality and the steering probably would have) And the problem with the interior isn't that it is Spartan, like a old Shelby Cobra or a newer Lotus, it's just plain 'ol cheap. Any speed deficit to another model I can address pretty quickly and relatively inexpensively, but start talking about fixing what is wrong with that interior and you better hold onto your wallet.

C7 needs to get here right now, and if they want this model to fare any better than the existing car the areas that need to be addressed are the interior, the steering, and the build quality.

I kike the Vette, and the performance and handling is undeniably better but I went with the Camaro bc the ride was just better with the Camaro. I went on a 6 hour drive in my brother in laws vette, just wasn't comfortable and felt all 6 hours of the road afterward. Drove my 2SS from SFO down to LA and felt great when I got there...jmo

How do you figure a SS/RS is better than a base c6??

in terms of performance-

any GM produced C6> any GM produced 5th gen Camaro

and I am willing to bet the Z28 will be lucky to match the performance of a base LS3 Vette

I see a lot more camaro hate from vette owners than the other way around. I like both, the vette's just too small for me, I like the extra room in the back seats, just makes the car feel bigger. A few months ago here, Callaway was at a dealership giving test drives in a SC camaro and grand sport. I got back from driving the 580hp camaro and asked this guy that was next in line (a vette owner) if he was gonna drive it next..... he goes "I wouldn't touch that piece of crap!" Oh well, I like both.... so who cares what others say. I saw a CGM ZR1 today on the road.... just had to stop and .
